I still don't get what the excitement is about. Aside from the few plushes, the rest is just the usual tacky throwaway "muppet merch" theyve had for a couple years. The cartoonish shirt is pretty cool tho. Trust me, the Disney park stores have infinitely cooler merchandise.
I spent almost an...
Ive begun to like MFS almost as much as The Muppets...at times more. MFS still feels like an old school Muppet film, in that a lot of the old crew was working on it. As surreal as the plot was, and as lame as some of the cameos were(Hulk Hogan for example) it didnt have near the distracting...
Great thoughts! And yeah Im glad you waited for the better 720p rip that just landed online. I know a lot of people get high and mighty about "piracy", but like you said for a lot of the world the Muppets may not be coming to a theater near them.
And yeah, first time I saw the movie, there was...
For some reason this forum, more than any of the hundreds Ive been on since the 90's, seems to have the highest concentration of people with emotional/mental/aspie/other/health/other issues. And I think I know why...because to be a Muppet fan, you have to be a little special. We arent Dr Who...
I assumed it was going to be a 7-8 dollar magazine. My jaw almost dropped when the girl at the checkout rang it up as $16. I was like "huh?" I mean even those big coffee table UK magazines(UK magazines are a thousand times better than lame American magazines, especially gamer/computer ones) are...
Why the heck couldnt they get the people who made the Men In Black/Godzilla late 90's cartoon, the French made US released Fantastic Four 2006 cartoon or the GI Joe Renegades studio to make a 2d TMNT? I LOVE the look of those cartoons, or anything Peter Chung does. Imagine a Peter Chung TMNT. It...
Aww poo:( I consider Cedar Rapids one of the best comedies Ive ever seen. I cant stand the Hangover tho, and POTC 4 succccked. I was surprised by Horrible Bosses! And I loved Crazy Stupid Love. AND someone else who has Midnight in Paris and Beginners in their top five. AMAAAAAZING films. I need...
Oh goodness, I saw a clip of that cgi Pooh show...ouch. And that Mickey cgi film...I literally just started cgi work for the first time in my life a few months ago(I royally suck btw) and my stuff looks way better than that garbage. I mean Im looking back at a cgi compilation vhs I got in 1988...
I actually hated the new Winnie the Pooh. I tend to prefer "modern" pooh more. The New Adventures of Winnie the Pooh 1989 through the 2000's films like Huffalumps movie. For only 60 minutes, it was trying way too hard to be like the old 60's cartoon. I felt the endless fourth wall breaking with...
Yeah it's truly tragic some of the Muppets and JHC best work came in the twilight years of Jim Henson. Ack...forgot about Muppetvision 3d. I love both seeing it in person and the nice hd scan someone posted on youtube. Yeah it seemed like JHC was truly ahead of the time. I mean forget Sid...they...
This was one of the top headlines on MSNBC:
Muppets to be one of the big 2012 comebacks:

I think that's why when the year ends in any given year, I realize the films that really dazzled me often were films with no cgi at all. While I absolutely love and in awe of films like The Matrix, The Matrix Reloaded, Tron Legacy, Scott Pilgrim, etc...I also love movies that dont rely on any...
One of the Disney stores near me dissolved the Muppet nook. Not sure if that meant they sold out and didnt reorder, or decided it wasnt selling. I dont think we'll see new merch by march...but hopefully randomly later on this year if the dvd sells well. Im sure all the good stuff is going to...
I agree it was the film that had to be made...I mean it feels special in parts, but other times it feels way off for me(Gonzo in particular) Im really hoping the next film they make can be a ittle more down to earth, more natural styled filmmaking like an indie film/december period clooney drama...
Yeah that's what I meant...that's the dynamic used for so many of the beloved characters...that and the ol "um, uh...here, youre going to be this guy"(Kevin Clash's Elmo) I wish there was a documentary that went into Bonnie Erickson, Don Sahlin, etc
Dr Tooth, it sounds like most the movies you saw last year were cgi kids movies? I thought you hate most of those? :) It takes a lot to make me see those.
Oh I shoulda added Moneyball to the list...that was surprisingly good, even tho I cant stand sports.
