    Making a flexible Mouth Piece

Thanks for that tip. There is a "$" store nearby that has a wall of placemats to choose from. I had not even considered this.

    Making a flexible Mouth Piece

I just finished my first mouth plate and I used a thin piece of milk jug plastic covered in black craft foam. It was way to stiff and i had to reach into the head and slice it with a razor to get rid of some of the stiffness. I am trying foam covered in felt for number 2.

1960's 'Blatch' Pattern Full-Size and Printable

This is the pattern I am using for my first puppet - well my second. My first attempt is my avatar and it was much too small to get my hand into. I am at the skinning stage - putting fur on it it. I was very excited about finding this article as well.

Has anyone tried spray paint on foam sheets?

Thanks for the tip. I have done faux brick before (2 flats for an improv mock up) but I am working by myself this time around and between classes. 10 flats on one stage and an undetermined number on the other (probably 6). I will use a roller it will definitely save me some time.

    First Puppet, First Lesson Learned

Here is a picture of the foam that I have resorted to using until I can find a source for larger sheets. It is 1/2 inch thick. I can get 1/4 inch from a local seamstress. http://i1371.photobucket.com/albums/ag313/cjspiteri/My%20puppet%20experiments/20141019_172255_zps2e677f52.jpg This is two...

Has anyone tried spray paint on foam sheets?

Thanks for the tip. I have never used floral spray paint before. I am working on a set right now and the walls are all carved foam that needs painting (Victorian brick). In the past we have used grey exterior paint, dry wall compound and tempra to tint the mix. I will see if we can get some...

    First Puppet, First Lesson Learned

Hi All, I just finished two foam heads and wanted to share my first experience with you. I have been wanting to do this for many years (about 10 that I can think of). My first head I love, its perfect in my eyes. Except for one thing. I didn't measure the neck opening for my hand. I couldn't...

Has anyone tried spray paint on foam sheets?

With an airbrush are you limited to a particular type of paint? I've never used one and would like to keep using acrylics and tempra if possible.
