I live near New Orleans -- after Katrina, EVERY shop shut down. It was months before any of them reopened, and for a long time we were afraid none of them would. Most of them didn't. I've really only got two options, although there are a couple of others within driving distance if I feel like a...
Be sure to let me know when you've got something to announce, man. I'm an editor at Comixtreme.com and I co-host a comic podcast, I'd be happy to give you some coverage.
Marvel does have a big advantage there, though -- they can take the reigns and make the movies on their own. DC, unfortunately, is owned by Time Warner, so their properties are at the mercy of the parent company. But at least The Dark Knight rocked the house.
So do I -- and so does a good...
I don't know if I'd say a comic necessarily would be "perverse," but I agree with you about the art. I can understand why his Gonzo may not be popular, but honestly, I really like it.
Mine is actually from last night, and it's kind of a long story. Y'see, a very dear friend of mine died on Sunday, and it's been a big bundle of tension at work (she and I were teachers at the same school). Last night, while at rehearsal for a play I'm in, another friend of mine told me her...
Something that's always kinda nagged at me over the years... just exactly how big were the Gorgs supposed to be, anyway? I mean, they could hold a Fraggle in their hands like an action figure (y'know, had they ever actually caught one), but Fraggles are regular Muppet-sized. If the Gorgs are big...
They're both flirting with it. Marvel has already bumped some of their higher-selling titles (and, as a result, those titles are no longer in my pull folder at the local comic shop). DC, to their credit, has at least given us more story pages whenever they've bumped the price... so far.
I voted, but I gotta tell ya, money is certainly an object for me. It'd certainly be worth the high price tag, but I'm a public school teacher. Dropping that kind of coin is a luxury.
Longtime comic book nerd that I am, I'm pretty psyched for this one. I like the artwork I've seen so far, and the writer seems to have the right sensibility about the project.
I'm especially happy that this (as well as the Pixar comics) are going to be $2.99 instead of Boom!'s usual $3.99...
Hey, everyone. I discovered the show a couple of months ago and I've become a big fan. I'm about halfway through Street Gang at the moment -- I probably never would have known it was coming out if it weren't for the Muppetcast.
