I will say that non-disco music from the 70s perhaps has one of the most instantly recognizable and distinct sounds from other genres and subgenres of music . . . most 70s music seem to have a lot of stringed instruments (violins and violas) providing the underscoring, while the melody is often...
Matt Vogel posted about this on Facebook this morning, but in May, Puppets for Puppetry will be having a special honor for Caroll Spinney, co-sponsored by the Jim Henson Company and Sesame Workshop, and benefitting the Center for Puppetry Arts.
Great to see Caroll receive the recognition he...
There's always going to be genres of music that some people consider to be "non-music," and I suppose if you grew up with rock and roll when it was new, that disco would seem like such "non-music." Kind of like how some would argue rap and hip-hop are "non-music."
After talking about disco and other fashions of decades past, I recently came to notice something. . . .

I will say, I'm happy to see it appears they went back to filtering notifications in chronological order, as opposed to randomizing them into what they feel is "more important" to you - it was becoming a drag to have to scroll through older notifications to find new ones.
So whenever you login to Facebook, at the top right of your newsfeed above trending topics, there's this widget for "Stories" that always has a randomization of any of your friends in it. What's that all about?
Slightly off-topic, but as I've said many times before, I've often thought it would be interesting to see certain YouTubers or other internet celebrities on SS . . . I mean, they had Pentatonix and Fifth Harmony in recent years, why not others? I'd love to see Lindsey Stirling dancing and...
While listening to the radio tonight, someone called in a requested "Jive Talkin'" by the BeeGees, to which the DJ said, "Just remember to keep all jive talkin' to a minimum, because otherwise you'll end up becoming a politician, and then it's not longer 'jive talkin'," it's 'alternative facts.'"
