I think PETA is a good example of why an extreme opinion can sometimes become a problem. Life is complicated and you can't always look at issues from one point of view.
That's why our country shouldn't be just conservative, OR just liberal. We need to have both because both are right on...
1. The chance to celebrate the birth of Jesus with my family. :)
2. A Flip camera, yay! :excited:
3. Ninja Mutant Ninja Turtles DVD, totally awesome!
4. Glasses with pictures of Beatles' albums, very groovy! :sing:
No Muppets stuff this year, but that's OK, maybe my birthday, lol.
That's awesome! And yes I totally understand what you mean about the power of moms, lol. And the photos of Richard are so sharp and large. Sometimes print does have strengths over the Web, lol.
Yeah I personally wouldn't agree with that decision since, again, those people wouldn't like it...
I have two opinions regarding book banning:
1. You shouldn't try to censor a book you personally dislike, because once you set that precedent, the next victim of censorship might be a book you love.
2. At the same time, I do think there should be some exceptions in extreme cases. Such as...
There a lot of things that only The Paley Center has though, like a panel discussion the Muppeteers had at The Center years before (Frank Oz, Jerry Nelson, etc) just after Muppet Christmas Carol. :)
Also if you haven't seen Jim Henson's unsold pilot Puppetman, they have that too, hehe.
It's important to separate the media from reality. The media often gives the impression of adversity and competition between sides but in reality a lot of it is for ratings. Unfortunately we all keep falling for it!
I know I can't believe that kind of thing is still going on, and with the same books over and over again. I went to Catholic school and we read Catcher in the Rye and Huckleberry Finn with no problems. I can't understand how they still remain targets to this day.
I'm torn on this usually...
Definitely true, writing is the thing that will make or break. I mean George Lucas cared about his prequel projects and had the talent, but even he admitted he'd neglected the actual writing of the stories in favor of the special effects. Which though impressive, didn't save the films.
Yeah I agree that makes sense as well. Just shows how difficult the reviving process can be.
Yes I do think it's possible and it has been done. A lot of it does come down to the writing, but also having a clear vision of who you are trying to appeal to and what you're trying to say.
Lol...
I would recommend looking into them further. The Canterbury Tales are one of the oldest stories still around and actually are very amusing and witty and surprisingly modern. You just have to learn the language of the time so to speak. : )
Love Scrooged! Lol
I hear you, a lot of people love...
I don't agree that the only alternative to new projects is to keep the franchise in mothballs. The posthumous Peanuts specials weren't duds because they tried to be like the old strips. They were disasters because they tried to be so different from the old strips. They would have been successful...
