Right, so I guess I'm saying it doesn't really matter what the activity is, it's the type of parents that are involved. But again, parents might behave badly at times, but that doesn't mean they're all around bad parents or aren't thinking of their kids at all.

How is that any different from parents spending huge amounts of money on sports, in the hope that their kid can get a sports scholarship for college?

Some parents are trying to get money for the family. They don't wake up one morning and say "Hey, wouldn't it be fun to exploit my kid!" Now I'm sure there are some families that pocket the money and that's wrong, but you'd find that outside of pageants too. Pageants aren't my favorite thing...

Well some of these parents are trying to win in order to get the money for things like college for their kids. For many people there's no other options open to them, or very few. I can't entirely blame them for that. It's a tough world out there, especially during a recession.

Bottom line, it comes down to money, or rather the potential loss of it. There's a section of the country that the networks are always afraid of upsetting. If they're upset, the networks lose money. The thing is, sometimes the networks are wrong. For instance they were so terrified of Star Trek...

You know in the 1930's there were the Dionne Quintuplets, who were literally put on display in a sort of zoo-like play pen for people to watch. Reality TV, or at least the idea beyond it, isn't all that new, sadly.

I just don't take her seriously as a someone who can actually win. I think Romney will get it before her. Though even if she did win, there's only so much a President can actually do. There's a lot of other factors to ruining a country, lol.

Just saying, from my experience, both parties are quite capable of being "monsterous" at times. But they're also both correct about other issues at times. To get rid of any one "side" completely I think would do more harm than good. Though I get that you're talking about very extremist views...

OK, I don't agree with Bachman's political views and I have no intention of voting for her. But I won't throw around the word "monster." She's adopted an amazing amount of foster children over the years. That's more than most people can bother to do. Just saying, people are complicated.

No offence but so? It's not the worst thing in the world. And often it is true. Lol ;) That's your opinion and that's fine. :) But personally I can't watch the new Batman films without laughing (and not in a good way, heh).
