See I love the nature footage, lol. But again I guess it's partially because I grew up hearing John Denver music (including the Rocky Mountain Holiday record album, lol) so it's always something I feel comfortable with. Maybe because I know Jim said doing Dr. Teeth's voice was a bit taxing.

That's not so much the issue. It's more that the special goes a long time just showing John Denver's stuff. I mean if you're a fan of John Denver (which I am, and my family as well), that's great. But if you just want to see the Muppets, you'd probably be doing a lot of fast forwarding, lol...

That's about right. It's sort of typical '70s special that meanders all over the place, lol. But again it's got a gorgeous soundtrack, some great Muppet moments and the Nativity scene is very touching. And yes, despite its flaws it's much better than IVMMC. ;)

The only one who messes up that theory is Mr. "Here's Your 3D Glasses" Scooter, who shows up in episode 6 asking to be hired as a go-fer. ;)

Yes it's one of my favorite Muppet Show moments. I was going through a rough time and had rented one of the Muppet Show Time Life DVDs, which really helped me get through. ;)

Yeah I think it's mainly the lack of exposure. I was too young to see on TV; I only got to see the whole thing from visiting The Museum of TV & Radio a few years ago. Tough Pigs did do a humorous review on it awhile back, lol: http://www.toughpigs.com/myweekxmasvacation01.htm

Oh absolutely that's one reason I like the John Denver special and the soundtrack so much; I was introduced to Christmas songs I'd never heard before or new twists on old ones. Plus I think the Nativity scene was very tastefully done. :)

Probably The Life and Adventures of Santa Claus from Rankin & Bass. Every time I see the beginning I just think, "What the heck am I watching?????" Lol

Just wanted to say, even though I voted for Muppet Family Christmas, I'm glad the John Denver special got a little bit of love as well, it's always getting made fun of, lol.

I saw that list before, I can't agree with anything from the Henson era being put on a "worst" list.

Nothing compares to Muppet Family Christmas; it's every Muppet fan's dream! :)

That's been more my experience as well. I was never really teased for liking the Muppets. For the most part people remembered them fondly from childhood. I was teased mercilessly for liking other things like Star Trek but that's another story, lol.

That's not good news for North Korea, that's for sure. I know it sounds PC but I'd prefer to call people like that "Pure Mental Illness, Coupled with Inflated Egos, Coupled with Far Too Many Yes-Men." ;)
