I completely and whole-heartedly disagree. The rapid pacing of Discord makes it extemely difficult to get close to anybody, let alone connect with people, and requires far more commitment than a forum, where you're able to go into deeper, more meaningful discussions with a community of people...
At the moment, I have to say that I was really shocked to see somebody on Facebook (who some of you probably also know, and saw) recapping 2018 as one of the best years in his life . . . he's literally the only person I've seen say anything positive about 2018 . . . the only person.
Chapter 4: The Disappearing MCer
Over the years, MC has accumulated a vast collection of threads that have gone on for countless pages - despite the turn over in community, and members coming and going - these threads offered something for everybody, at any given time, hence their longevity...
I actually disagree about Roger Rabbit . . . I always marveled at how cartoons and real people co-exist, and wondered how it was possible - especially when the cartoons were handling actual, real-world objects, like the weasels and their weapons, and such.
According to Phil, it's less about the size and layout of the forum, and more about the annoyance of seeing the same images repeated in a thread from the same people posting multiple replies in a single page.
When the forum moved from vBulletin to XenForo, we actually had the ability to embed...
I've also never been on a forum besides this one that doesn't allow images in signatures.
But, also, once upon a time, MC didn't allow embedded images or videos in posts, there was limit of three smileys per post, avatars couldn't be larger than 64x64 pixels, and signatures couldn't exceed...
No, you're right, there's nothing mysterious about that. But the reason why the particular examples of which I've written about are mysterious, are because of their unusual and strange circumstances.
The age-old excuse is that "people will abuse that feature."
This is why we also aren't allowed to go back and edit our posts after a certain amount of time (usually an hour).
To be fair, I can see both sides of the fence here: on the one hand, there have been occasions where people will go...
The Nerdlucks playset was really, really hard to find . . . I ended up getting it on eBay several years back. Otherwise, I remember you could get certain Nerdlucks in little variety sets that usually came with an NBA star, and a Looney Tune.
I quite practically spent much of the entire day throwing together new custom thumbnails for Steve's older videos on YouTube. Not my best work, of course, and they are kind of amateur-looking, but at the same time, they suddenly make my YouTube channel look more "real."
Yeah, we used to have this thread, so I'm assuming Ed deleted it because this mysterious forum member who keeps insist all of his or her posts be deleted, for whatever reason, ruining threads for everybody else.
I blame the Discord, but, like, MC hasn't seen much going on in a little while.
Okay, we didn't necessarily need to start the story with a musical number, just saying. It wasn't a bad song, just felt forced and contrived.
And the inconsistent set decorating bothered me: why is there a full orange fall tree out on the sidewalk, and others are full green summer trees? And...
And, here we are!
Okay, so, it's just for one day today, but . . . yeah, it's not supposed to be in the 60s in December (or January, for that matter).
Actually, the first week and a half of December actually started out below average for us - we even had overnight snow one weekend...
