    What made you think today?

I think I know what another main problem is with cartoons today: they're too fast-paced, everything happens so quickly that you barely have enough time to really process what's happening. Granted, I'm sure the writers are pressured to squeeze as much as they can into what little running time...

The "I Saw Something REALLY Weird Today" Thread

Be that as it may, modern technology is playing a much bigger factor in it - for both kids and adults - than it was, say, ten or even twenty years ago. As I've said many times before, my generation had cable, video games, and home internet was becoming more commonplace, but even so, we prefered...

The "I Saw Something REALLY Weird Today" Thread

While at CiCi's Pizza this afternoon, TTG was on TV, and Raven looked frighteningly happy: all wide-eyed and everything, it was like she was hopped up on sugar, caffeine, and ecstacy.

West Nile, Swine Flu, Meningitis, and Sequelitis

That was kind of my point.

Now what's going on with YouTube?

Another 73, bringing it to a current total of 296 channels that YouTube's tried to force me to subscribe to today.

You Ever Notice...and What's the Deal...

When The Beatles split up and went onto solo careers, it seems like much of their music continued to have that sort of distinct Beatles-esque sound to them. Most obvious example I can think of is George Harrison's "Got My Mind Set on You" from the 80s - that sounds very much like a traditional...

I didn't even know Angry Birds was still a thing!

Now what's going on with YouTube?

And now another 50, that makes well over 200 channels YouTube's tried forcing on me today! And they're nothing but a bunch of random channels that I've never heard of, let alone care about. Some of them are official channels, like Fox News, Sony Entertainment, Glove & Boots, various PBS...

Now what's going on with YouTube?

And another 40 just now! That's literally over 150 channels that YouTube's tried to force me to subscribe to today, none of which I have any friggin interest in! Just let me see the channels I'm subscribed to!

Now what's going on with YouTube?

63 more channels! They just tried to get me to subscribe to another 63 channels! None of which I'm interested in! I hate when they do this!

And to think, once upon a time, we were trying to teach kids to avoid using the internet because of all the sexual predators out there that had the intentions of luring kids into unspeakable situations:

    Classic Sesame Clips on YouTube

Really? Because it was quite common in the 90s.

Now what's going on with YouTube?

Sheesh! YouTube just tried to get me to subscribe to fifty channels that I have absolutely no interest in!

    The Chipmunks

I will say this: I wish Drtooth was still hear to rant about this Sunday's upcoming new episode of the Nick series being a preachy, heavy-handed sermon about saving bees. Kind of like that ARTHUR episode about Sue Ellen going vegetarian.

    The Chipmunks

Some of the younger crowd out there do like them, but I mean hey, if they like them, then that's fine. Like you I only saw the first one, and while I didn't care for it (I felt Jason Lee was horribly mis-cast as Dave, and the characters' personalities felt too forcibly contemporary and "hip" to...

    The Chipmunks

I was just talking about this the other day: the 80s cartoon, animation-wise, has not aged well, at all. The seasons that were animated by Ruby-Spears have such a Hanna-Barbera-esque look to them that it makes it look even older than it is - like it came from the 60s or something; the seasons...
