Bear arrives on Disney+ The beloved series has been off the air for the past 15 years. Now all four seasons are finally available for a whole new generation.
Yeah I got myself the one with Steve Martin on it way back in the day before I said "forget it, I'll wait until they do season sets"... how ironic that now I'm going after the Best of ones again :p
Jeez, ten years? Hard to imagine. I remember thinking the gap between seasons 1 and 2 was brutal lol. Then being really happy that there was so little time between 2 and 3. Oh well.
I'm considering tracking down those "Best of" DVDs with any seasons 4 and 5 episodes just to have.
I do wish the episodes were at least available digitally. It's not optimum, in my opinion (I'll always prefer actually owning something physical), but it would certainly be better than nothing. I had to resort to that with ABC's The Muppets.
I don't really follow anything Sesame Street, but I did happen to catch a video on Facebook and was surprised to hear someone other than Steve performing Ernie!
But this guy does a really good job, and I guess Steve is busy with main Muppet stuff, so it all works out pretty well.
I actually just watched through the series again (bought them digitally on Amazon since I'm not expecting a Blu-ray anytime soon) and this show was brilliant. I can't believe that it wasn't more popular (I'm guessing a lot of it had to do with bad press from those ****ing cows running "One...
God.. give it a rest.
The physical media market definitely isn't what it used to be, now that streaming and digital media is so prominent.
TV shows on DVD and Blu-ray are definitely victims of this (the fact that they won't even put anymore Simpsons on DVD is a huge indicator).
It's nice...
Yeah like I said, I wouldn't be surprised if it never happened.
Still, it would be nice if they came out with it. It's just one 16-episode release. Done and done :p
I'd love to own the show, but I'm not really holding my breath for a disc-based release.
Has anybody "in the know" heard about it coming out on Blu-ray or DVD?
$29.99 is still more than I'm willing to pay for a digital download that can only be played from an iTunes account.
Let me know when there's a Blu-ray release ;P in the meantime I wonder if I can hook up my DVD recorder to the cable box I have the episodes DVR'd on...
Such a darn shame.
Every episode of season 1 was amazing. It brought back that wonderful feeling of having a hilarious comedy show to watch during the week that I haven't felt since The Office went off the air :/
Oh well, can't say I'm surprised, to be honest.
So what do you think the chances...
The Palisades Muppet line is one of my all-time favorite toy lines. I would have loved to see the Sesame Street line take off. The Super Grover figure is AMAZING.
Even if it was just the "core" characters: Cookie Monster, Bert, Ernie, The Count, Grover, Elmo, Oscar, etc. it would've been fine...
Haha oh man. What I wouldn't give to see / hear Frank performing Sam the Eagle again. Eric's great, don't get me wrong, but Frank was just SO brilliant as Sam, it's hard to top.
Has there been any word on this show getting a Blu-ray / DVD release? Maybe they're waiting to see if it gets...
Depends on the figure, really. I haven't done much looking lately, since I bought them all as they were released back in the day.
I know some of them are super expensive on the after market though, like the Backstage play set.
I'd say just look on eBay to get a good idea.
