The one thing I'm not positive about is the first film. Like, I might have seen bits and pieces of it on TV before GB2.
Oh I know! But those were hard to find even back then. I only had them because my Dad managed to get them at work somehow. I was the envy of my entire class, lol. Everyone...
Yes. I do seem to remember seeing GB2 and thinking, "Oh ok, so that's the real life Egon, I get it," as opposed to the cartoon one, lol. There was always this interesting blending. Pretty sure I saw the original film later.
Yeah that keeps being thrown around, that would be cool seeing it on...
OK here goes:
Pros: Loved all the new characters, amazingly endearing all the way! Looking forward to seeing them again (which is a huge step up from the prequels). :flirt:
Probably my favorite moment from the original cast was C-3PO reuniting with R2-D2. You know those guys pretty much...
This year, my friend made Christmas even more amazing by finding not one, but TWO of his old VHS tapings of Muppet Family Christmas, including commercials! I know it's a cliche, but I really feel like I've been through a time machine this Christmas. :halo:
Lol, well the way I take it is Santa never really wanted to take the day off, he was just under the impression kids didn't care about him anymore. Now that the kids have proven they do care and still want him, he doesn't mind going back on the job. :)
Yeah that's the thing, I do get the impression they were trying to be respectful. And the fact that BB2000 is so "out there" at times kinda says to me that it wasn't just your typical cynical studio cash grab.
Oh wow...I think you win the thread! It seems almost like the Incredible Shrinking Woman in reverse. I wish more movies could achieve this kind of unsettling quality!
That is pretty cool. I haven't seen BB2000 all the way through, but I thought one or two scenes seemed interesting. I'm the first one to say sequels made so many years later are usually ill advised. But either way, I never appreciated Nostalgia Critic's review of it. First his "you don't even...
Oh definitely. I almost feel like the first season Muppet Show came close to the same mistakes Family Guy fell into--thinking it's funny to watch continually characters get dumped on, or be jerks, with no relief in sight. Mistaken bullying for humor basically. Really glad they got that out of...
Actually, I love the character because he is both fiercely loyal and ruthlessly ambitious. There's a fine line there and that's very true to life if you want a career in show business. Muppet Show always had that undertone of how desperate people in showbiz can get. That's why i kinda giggle...
Just wanted to resurrect this thread for a sec and make a confession. Ready? OK...
Last night I watched The Blues Brothers for the very first time.
In response to your obvious question, no I've only been living under a rock for the past 10 years, so I really have no excuse for myself. :halo...
True, but the uncle thing was a strength, something he could hold over Kermit. Whereas there's really no dignity in being a Mama's boy character. It just feels like the writers think ridiculing these characters is funny.
Can I just say Kelly Clarkson's Underneath the Tree is one of few newer Xmass songs I actually really appreciate? It sounds like it could have been around for ages!
Yeah, that's the one I always think of. The most interesting character on the show gets a case of Scrooge-itis and all the other characters get to ham it up as the ghosts; hilarity and prat falls ensue, and by the end, faith in Christmas is restored again. :)
Tell me about it. When 106.7 started playing that stupid drum machine ladened Winter Wonderland again, I just turned down the volume and listened to Red Baron on YouTube until it was over, lol. Take that, you out dated, wholly inadequate electronic medium! :D
