None Like it Hot: The "I Hate the Heat" Club

Welp . . . couple of days of above-average spring-like weather again . . . not that I'm looking forward to that, but I will say, so far, the winter season hasn't been entirely considerably above average like they were predicting, which has been something of a relief, as it seems like whenever...

    Little things we've noticed

I don't know about the fat blue AMs specifically, but as far as Brian's puppetry in general goes, one thing I've always noticed about his lip syncing is that he often makes the mouths look as though they're "chattering" rather than talking - just really quick opening and closing motions without...

    COVID-19 Coronavirus News and Updates

After all of these years, there are still two Super Bowl commercials in particular that are always fresh in my memory: Denny's Nannerpus commercial, and Snicker's Danny Trejo as Marcia Brady commercial.

Yeah, it's those VCR sides that really start going quickly . . . I can attest to that, because I've gone through about four or five machines just in the last decade or so; they've usually only lasted me about three years at the most.

    COVID-19 Coronavirus News and Updates

Could be; Papa John's usually have such great specials and deals for Super Bowl . . . or, at least, they used to, until they ousted Papa John himself when he showed himself to be a racist douchebag who underpaid his employees and would've let them have decent health benefits or anything.

If you have any RCA connectors or coaxial cables, you might be able to hook your portable up to your TV and watch that way.

Fair enough. And you could be right, but it still might not hurt to check and see if it could use a cleaning; dust can really build up in those things if you don't stay on top of it.

They are made cheaply these days, yeah . . . but, maybe yours just needs a little cleaning, maybe? (Shrug)

    COVID-19 Coronavirus News and Updates

No, but wearing masks has made just talking more of a hinderance: it's hard to hear people talking normally through a mask, and in my case, since I wear a respirator, I practically have to yell inside my mask for people to hear me clearly; likewise, I find myself having to says the words, "I...

The new What Made You Smile Today thread

I've only had one Zoom call once with a friend/colleague of mine last year, and it didn't work out - at all . . . I think the culprit was my outdated webcam, because apparently there was a terrible delay from my video that we had to nix the video aspect of the call, and just do voice instead...

The new What Made You Smile Today thread

And, I suppose an imposed time limit is another con as well; I remember because there wasn't much of a line behind me when I met certain folks like Bob McGrath and Noel MacNeal, there was no rush, so I was able to really have nice, lengthy conversations with them. But, like you say, it's the...

Christmas: Are they shoving it down our throats too early?

And even still now! I don't believe I've ever still seen Christmas commercials this long after Christmas had ended, lol.

The Food Thread (Non Instagram Edition)

I think we have a Macaroni Grill here, but never bothered trying them out. Another place I never bothered with is Bonefish Grill, because . . . what a weird name for a restaurant . . . even their logo is a fish skeleton . . . not very appetitizing.
