The new What Made You Smile Today thread

I've been very pleased with the health insurance plan I've had for the past year, but what really made me smile today was upon learning mine is an automatic renewal plan, so I don't have to deal with having to contact anybody or go through the hassle of renewing next month.

Christmas: Are they shoving it down our throats too early?

Here it is Valentine's, and there's still Christmas billboards all over town! I've never seen such before! On the flip side though, the stores already have Cadbury eggs for Easter!!

The Food Thread (Non Instagram Edition)

You seriously never had one before? They're rather good, but it depends - sometimes the batter can be a little too sweet (like if they use honey), which doesn't go very well with the meatiness of the dog. It's best to dip 'em in a little ketchup . . . or mustard . . . or both!

The Food Thread (Non Instagram Edition)

Sonic's got some pretty good dogs - for a while, they had pretzel bun and even cheesy bun dogs, but generally speaking, I don't mind one of their chili cheese coneys now and then . . . not to mention when they have 50 cent Corn Dog Day on the last day of school, and Halloween.

Ice Age: Blue Sky's Answer to Shrek?

As long as we're discussing advances in CGI animation, why is literally nobody but me even talking about how cheap and lazy the CGI for the new Tom and Jerry movie looks?

Ice Age: Blue Sky's Answer to Shrek?

Unfortunately, the same can't be said for all animation studios from back then - especially the ones that relied on limited animation like Jay Ward, Hanna-Barbera, some of Ruby-Spears, and others. A lot of DiC's stuff also have those very obvious pen-drawn look that the late 80s and early 90s...

The “What did you do today?” thread

Dayum, just the fact you actually got through those high notes is impressive!

Ice Age: Blue Sky's Answer to Shrek?

True. And therein lies part of the problem: once all of these other different little smaller studios began emerging from the shadows like Illumination, Sony Pictures Animation, not to mention all of these other little off-brand studios that were growing more prominent in the mid and late 2000s...

Holy s@&#, I made a fool of myself...

There's always hope that some people can make changes in their lives for the better and improve themselves . . . unfortunately, that's not always the case, and some people you just can't reason with, even if you took a baseball bat to their head to knock some sense into them. As I've mentioned...

Ice Age: Blue Sky's Answer to Shrek?

Pixar and DreamWorks were always the two biggest competitors back in the days when CGI movies were still new an exciting, and both were always having to bring their A-game to try to stay one step ahead of the other . . . then Blue Sky came into the picture, and suddenly there was this third...

Ice Age: Blue Sky's Answer to Shrek?

Sadly, this isn't even the first time Disney has laid off a bunch of employees at once.

Ice Age: Blue Sky's Answer to Shrek?

Nah. I agree with you though; THE PEANUTS MOVIE was one of the most respectful and faithful modern adaptations of a classic property I've seen in a long time, and ICE AGE aside (I liked the first one, don't care for the sequels), their movies are pretty forgettable.

Ice Age: Blue Sky's Answer to Shrek?

Welp; Disney's shut down Blue Sky completely, so I guess no more Ice Age.

YUCK! What grossed you out today?

So, there's this weird creep who's thirsty for a cartoon character I created, and . . . whoops, wrong thread. Or, is it? Ah, **** it.

It's worked better for some than others. Sid & Marty Krofft, Bagdasarian Productions, for example.

Craig works for the system. If he were an independent and retained creative control and ownership over his own creations, that'd be a totally different story.

    The Old Cartoon Network Thread

Yeah, but why does it seem like it's always only Powerpuff Girls that get rebooted and none of the other CN properties? Haven't heard anything from John R. Dilworth about the supposed Courage prequel spin-off in a while.
