Actually we do not know what's going on with all these edits with the HBO I thought it was something with Joe Rapso estate but, looks like other parts are getting edited. So only time will tell us what's going on.

Actually you got it wrong Sully was briefly retired then David Rudman took over the puppetry work then in the mid 90s both characters were retired but returned in a season thirty episode and a brief cameo in season 40.
