Yeah occasionally for workshops they will use retired characters strip down to basic form. I saw both Humphrey and Papa Bear like that.

I know Humphrey is retired because I saw him being used as Muppeteer Workshop puppet in an Instagram posted.

I just realize a little something, seems throughout the 80s and 90s, Kevin would substitute as a major character when the performer wasn’t there like Kermit in Big Bird story time, Grover in Monster in the Mirror, Count in Counting Vacation. Is there any more examples of this?

It doesn’t seem like Jim Henson is performing the puppetry for Kermit in the segment, it looks more like Jerry Nelson.

Noel is still in enough shape to perform Bear, he still performs Big Bird whenever Matt or Peter cannot do it.

Who do you think puppeteered Chrissy in this number? It’s definitely not Jim, I can tell.

To me it looks like Kevin Clash is puppeteering Chrissy.
