Problem with Romaine is that it gets recalled a lot for contaminants like salmonella or E. coli. My mom got food poisoning a few years ago from eating a salad with Romaine in it; not a fun experience. Personally, I like just plain green leafy lettuce, but that doesn't seem to be too popular.

As far as "big salads" go, sometimes I'll get a pre-packaged salad from Walmart, those are pretty sizable . . . the only problem is often times, they put tons of those whitish "core" pieces and chunks of lettuce into the salad, so you pretty much have to dig through the salad to pull those piece...
