If I remember correctly, the original Gonzo puppet had the same saggy, sad eyes as this modern puppet. This new puppet is a little fatter, but it looks like they're bringing him back to his original, Muppet Show Season One look.

I was just coming to post this, but ya beat me to it. I'm very excited about this... The first Jim Henson-scribed product to come out since his untimely death. I wish the article went into further detail about the story, but I guess we'll see what it's about when it's released.

So, according to Wikipedia (not always a reputable source for information), has stated that while Vol. 2 is to be released in August, LOTDC's third volume has been canceled. Can anyone confirm this? Further more, if this is true, does it bode ill for the franchise (proposed TV series, sequel, etc)?
Buttuglies, I think, went into production around the same time, but was not put on the Teen Animation Block (can't remember the catchy title) until the Summer of 02. I'm an animation enthusiast, and (wannabe) animation, not like that gives me any credentials... but I have yet to find something...
