Sam and Friends Book Read our review of the long-awaited book, "Sam and Friends - The Story of Jim Henson's First Television Show" by Muppet Historian Craig Shemin.
Well, MTI and MCC were based more around human characters more then anything, and it really only starred the Muppets, they weren't really themselves (except for Gonzo and Rizzo like you said).
But a Scooter movie? I'd definately pay money to see that!
Regardless of how you may feel about MFS, it was cool to have a Muppet movie focus around someone other then Kermit and Piggy. Now that Bill Baretta is doing such an amazing job with some of Jim's old characters (and the fact that he's my favorite current Muppeteer), I'd like to see a Rowlf story.
I wonder why Martha? I'm glad the Muppets are taking every chance they get, I just hope the shows they are on respect them for who they are. How was Martha toward Kermit?
If you've convinced yourself that you have the super power of being able to pick out Kermit the Frog merchandise of any kind from great distances amongst complex displays, you might just be an obsessed Muppet fan.
Kev, you're insane; those are really awesome, especially the first one. Man, I totally remember playing the game, seeing that and thinking "Thank God someone with talent did some art for this thing". Hand to God, I said that.
Really!? I've never heard of that before. Is that even possible? I think Little Mermaid came out in '89, but production started on it four years earlier, long before the original Henson/Disney deal. I have the VHS currently, I'll have to go look but I'm really curious if anyone knows more about...
Are you saying that Eisner wasn't aware of who owned SS until after the deal was made? Wow, what a boob he must've felt like.
Tim, being so knowledgable and having worked with Henson, I'm curious on your opinion; based on your theory about the Muppets going scarce after their ten year...
Agreed, I know some people look at MC as a bunch of whiny kids, and in truth, I can see where those thoughts might stem from. I used to be like that, but then I realized that Jim would never want his fans acting so. Hence the addition to my sig: What Would Jim Do? MC needs to fulfill it's great...
Hey everyone, it's fine to debate and have opinions, but let's remember we're all Muppet fans here. I used to get angry and go off at one time to, but now I wear a little bracelet that says W.W.J.D. What Would Jim Do? :)
He wouldn't flip at the very least methinks.
For my own personal selfishness, all I can say is thank God this is Disney Land and not Disney World, where I witnessed first hand that despite being tucked away in the back of the park, MV3D was one of the most popular attractions in the park, preceeded only by Tower of Terror and Rockin'...
My whole family were John Denver maniacs (my dad used to sing "Sunshine On My Shoulder" to me as a lullaby when I was just a little tiny Vic Romano) and quite possibly why they were so supportive and even pushy at times in the development of my Muppet fandom because of all the work he did with...
I saw GMC, MTM and MFS in the theatre (MTM and MFS on opening night!) and I also saw Follow That Bird in the theatre too. At MTM, my cousin and I wore Muppet t-shirts and each had a Muppet plush. I had :) and he had :concern: and the theatre manager took our picture for the theatre's newsletter...
