I really love Czech marionettes. Beautiful craftsman ship.
Most television puppets are just Muppet knock-offs. I appreciate originality, which is why the Muppets were so appealing.
I don't get why people are saying this is for a younger audience. The Muppets are about bridging the gap between children and adults. They're not supposed to be dumbed down for a stupid tween show.
On one hand, I would be really disgruntled and angry if I spent all day in a suit, not being paid much, in the NYC heat. Still, people, have standards!
I once witnessed a man in an Elmo costume fighting with another mascot. "YOU WANT SOME OF DIS? WELCOME TO ELMO'S WORLD OF PAIN." It was the best thing ever, but I also felt bad for the little kids watching.
I would love a MOMA tribute as well. Rhode Island is a bus-ride away from NYC, but I can't make plans on the drop of a hat due to work obligations. Still, hope it was a great show (I'm sure it was!)
I liked what the writers did with it. I don't like Disney's decision to force a starlet with dubious talent down people's throat, especially when the Muppets are traditionally of a higher caliber.
Oh, no, I realize you didn't mean anything sexist by it! I was just saying that the term in general is usually used as a poor excuse for characterization.
I've always disliked the moniker of "Strong female character." What does that imply about the rest of the female population? Are they all weak, meek, and needy?
I don't know. I respectfully disagree. Skeeter doesn't have much of a function outside of Muppet Babies.
So I guess there's going to be an open memorial mass on the 9th in NYC. I have work in Chelsea that day, so I probably won't be able to attend. And even so, I don't know if it's appropriate to attend, despite it being "open to the public." I met Jane a few times, but I didn't "know" her, and I...
So, Tina Fey, Ricky Gervais, Usher, Christoph Waltz, and Tom Hiddleston. Already, the cameo list is much more impressive than SELENA GOMEZ. I'm quite happy about this.
Guys... Skeeter wasn't that interesting of a character. She was only thrown in there to add another girl. I don't know why people are so fascinated by her.
I do think Mrs. Henson lived a full, productive, wonderful life. If you've ever met her, or listened to her talk, you'd know she didn't have much fear in her, just an innate curiosity about all aspects of life. She took Mr. Henson's death and made it into something beautiful: a legacy, a support...
