*Sigh*...I too dislike what has happened to Bert & Ernie, with Steve being away and all. But that's topic for another time.
As far as Grover, does anyone see those Elmo-Grover debates? Like some fans feel Elmo replaced Grover as the "cute" monster on the show. Any Grover fans wanna elaborate...
Yeah, I've thought about that as well. Maybe he can perform Big Bird, but not as much as he used to? Compared to the physically demanding episodes of days past, not many episodes really call for Big Bird these days, so maybe that is good to Mr. Spinney's advantage? Still, we have Matt, so...
Eh...I blame the writing. It's not like that can't write more Big Bird stories (or even insert skits...come on now) for him. Or...dare I say it...maybe "research" showed he wasn't a favorite anymore? I don't know. I guess it's the changing times I guess.
But yes, there was a time when Big Bird...
I loved raspy voiced Elmo. Seems like that was lost right after the "Tickle Me Elmo" doll was released. It really sounded like Elmo was a "monster child". Nowadays it sounds like "a child that just so happens to be a monster".
There's no doubt in my mind he will be. I think it's only fitting though, that he'd appear in the nest alongside Big Bird and Elmo as a tribute to Mr. Nelson.
In light of recent events, I hope The Count does have speaking role in this show. It would be nice, not to mention very emotional, hearing Jerry Nelson's voice again. Sad to know this will be the last new SSL he will be a part of.
I'd go with The Count since it was the first character of Mr. Nelson's I was introduced to as a child. Though I have gotta admit...WOW, looking at this list...and not counting other characters he did (Herry Monster, anyone), Mr. Nelson had a wide and diverse range of characters. Quite impressive.
