Yeah, "The End" is certainly one of the Doors' absolute masterpieces. Actually, the "official" studio version (from their brilliant first album) runs well over 11 minutes. Some live versions have gone on well past the 20-minute mark.
I highly recommend the Doors' first album, The Doors (IMHO...
Another favorite classic show of mine is The Monkees. I first caught 'em around 1986 or so, when MTV started showing the entire series in honor of the group's 20th anniversary. Then it moved to syndication for one or two more years, airing once in the morning and once in the afternoon.
