Actually, not only did I hear it on the radio, but they actually PLAYED the original opening theme! I was surprised! They also mentioned that Oscar was orange, and that Big Bird had a different look and a different voice. That sure was nice. :)
They never actually illustrated the word "PENCIL." But there was a skit where they were using a pencil for various different things, but the word "PENCIL" did not appear anywhere.
That is a VERY interesting question, Dante. But somehow, I don't think they ever were. They could have been in Season 19, but I don't think Olivia was on that much during that season. Maybe in Season 18 they were, but I don't think Gina was even a regular cast member during that season. I wonder...
Because they have so many other shows they want to produce, such as Dragon Tales, Sagwa, Cyberchase, Arthur, Maya & Miguel, Postcards from Buster, etc. etc.

Well, she made that appearance with the song called "How I Miss My 'X'" back in 1985, and then in 1999, she re-appeared on the show with something called the "Gospel Alphabet", which also featured pretty much the entire cast.
Unfortunately, I can't see them putting old episodes of Sesame Street on there, because from what I understand, this channel is supposed to be strictly for preschoolers. So can you really see them putting old shows on there? I can't.
They DID have a now-gone series called "Sesame Street Unpaved", which ran from 1999-2003, and it featured 67 episodes from 1969-89. They had The Electric Company as well. They were both part of a wee-hour block of programming that they entitled, "Deja Noggin," which also had 3-2-1 Contact. But...
