Kermit took the whole week, but I spent like 8 to ten hours a day for four or five days! I'm working on carving a Gonzo from a block of reticulated foam & converting an Animal MR poser to a puppet. :halo:
Last week was spring break. Some people go on vacation, I spent it making a Kermit the Frog replica using the MR poser as a reference and the Project Puppet sock pattern. I am very proud of it. I hope you like it :)
The butterfly is made from polar fleece. She looks fine, but the seams are very visible running down her face. It's all a matter of what you're looking for. I wanted to make her kinda quick so I used polar fleece and machine sewed it.
This is where I ordered my block of foam from last summer. It was about $35 if I remember correctly. They sell remnants from custom orders cheaper than buying an uncut block.

The first puppet I made was the purple artist. Project puppet makes it pretty easy. Elmo & Cookie are made from the Mostro & Borsa patterns. I bought the MR replicas as references & I am attempting to make Kermit, Gonzo, & Animal. For Kermit, I'm going to try the glorified sock puppet as a...
Hi ho! I've been a member for a while here an post from time to time. I teach elementary art and about two years ago I decided to start using puppets in my classroom to help with boring things like classroom management, how to use materials, and how to clean up. I made three original puppets...

I was in Toys R US today an in their FAO section at the front of the store, they had a green Muppet Whatnot. No features or clothes. It said "green body" on the SKU tag. I saw not facial pieces or clothes to purchase anywhere though.
I dunno why, but when I was a kid I always saw Gonzo as a kind of weird bird. He's got feathers on his head and a beak sort of nose and he likes chickens. Ah, the mind of a child.
