    TV Tropes

One thing I wonder about examples pages: Why is it that some pages list puppet shows under "Live-Action Television", but others have a "Puppet Shows" section? Especially since most pages that have the "Puppet Shows" sections usually only have one or two examples.

You Ever Notice...and What's the Deal...

Why are there some sitcoms, Taxi and Newhart being the only that come to mind off-hand, that have tags for half the episodes and don't have tags for others?

You Ever Notice...and What's the Deal...

What's the deal with Winnie the Pooh being called Winnie the Pooh? Is Winnie a name that can normally be male or female? Because the only other Winnie I know of is from The Wonder Years. And Pooh... Sounds like Poo. Besides, he's a bear. And they rarely refer to Winnie the Pooh as Winnie...

Old School Sesame Street Live (1980-1999)

For some reason the full-body Herry looks weird. But he didn't appear in many Sesame Street Live shows (could that be why?). For some reason I feel like his face here looks more like it looked in the late-1980s/1990s. At least I don't think the regular puppets face looked that way at the...

    Dreams about Muppets...

Last night I dreamt that I rented The Kermit and Piggy Story, and some of the clips were replaced or removed. And I was sure that it was the one existing release and not a rerelease. Most notably, this copy included Raquel Welch's "Baby It's Me" number (despite not having Kermit or Miss Piggy)...

    Rumor: Muppets Stage Show

I'd like to see the presentation tape. I guess I know what to add to my wishlist of bonus features on the Muppet Show Season Four (or five) DVD. I wonder if they'll record a performance and put on on DVD or TV. Have any Broadway performances ever been recorded and released to the at-home...

You Ever Notice...and What's the Deal...

There's one episode of Mister Ed where Ed gets amnesia and forgets that he's a horse. But then why doesn't he talk to other humans besides Wilbur in that episode? There's one or two opportunities where he could have talked to humans, under amnesia he actually likes Mr. Addison, and of course he...

    TV Tropes

Well, after months of consideration, I have finally joined TV Tropes. I am surprised that my confirmation e-mail didn't come right away (I think it came two hours after I signed up). Usually when I sign up for something online the confirmation e-mail comes right away (though it also took a week...

You Ever Notice...and What's the Deal...

Of course, there were a number of shows between the finales of The Fugitive and M*A*S*H that had proper finales, like The Mary Tyler Moore Show, The Bob Newhart Show, and The Odd Couple. And I am bothered by what happened in the Cheers finale. Would it have really been a bad thing if Sam and...

Old School Sesame Street Live (1980-1999)

I've only watched the beginning of this, and it's hard to understand what they are saying with all the kids cheering and screaming. I thought Herry's pants in this were plain blue, but I can see many lines, as if they are blue stripped pants. I'd really like to see video for Big Bird's...

You Ever Notice...and What's the Deal...

There was a series of Peanuts strips (which were adapted into a segment on The Charlie Brown and Snoopy Show) where Lucy kicks Linus out of the house, and at one point Charlie Brown asks why the parents allow it, only for Linus to reveal that their mom is in the hospital (and the parents didn't...

Silly things you said, did, or thought as a kid

Back when TV Land started and the commercials said to call your cable providers and say "Take me to TV Land!", I thought that was all it took to get TV Land. Did anyone actually do that in an attempt to get the channel?

Classic Clips on SST Workshop's Site

The Roosevelt Franklin clip on here and there is now longer than it had been. Previously on the site, the clip ended with Hard Head Henry Harris getting his letter, but now (probably since the site changed and many clips were updated) we get to see him read the letter...

    Questions about anything

Are the terms "boy scout" and "girl scout" copyrighted/trademarked/pattned/whatever-the-appropriate-lawful-equivalent is? Because I've noticed a number of fictional properties, particularly cartoons, have scout-like groups that aren't called boy scouts or girl scouts (and sometimes they don't...

SST 2.0: Forgetful Jones goes to the doctor

Enjoy this episode of the fictitious series "Sesame Street 2.0", which was an April Fools joke in 2012 concerning a Sesame Street show aimed at adults, with heavy focus on classic clips. Scene 1 Realizing how Forgetful Jones' forgetfulness is more serious beyond just casual forgetfulness...

You Ever Notice...and What's the Deal...

I've read that one reason why old TV shows were not saved for reruns sake was because people thought nobody would want to watch a program again. But many old movies had been rereleased and were obviously successful (quite a few animated Disney movies weren't successful until they were rereleased...

    Questions about anything

There's a few TV shows where the openings have something different in each show. But wouldn't it be neat to be able to see versions of the openings without the episode-speciffic elements? Like The Mickey Mouse Club theme without Donald's gong, The Muppet Show theme without Fozzie's joke, Statler...

    Questions about anything

Ever notice how the majority of Looney Tunes compilation movies and specials pretty much avoided shorts with politically incorrect content, and when such shorts were included, they pretty much didn't include the politically incorrect stuff, even if the shorts were regularly being shown on TV at...
