I don't think Bill did it. I believe Pepe, Statler, and Waldorf were done by new performers for that movie review skit. Sadly we never saw it again.
Brian is a great director. Maybe if he was limited to just directing and performing Sal it would be good. Apprently Frank and the other...
They really didn't need to make new ones. Perhaps it would be best to just reuse the old ones. They actually redid Rubber Ducky with Steve and a newer Ernie puppet (at least I think it was Steve) but they used the original sound track.
One thing Jerry Jhul could do in the movies was give each set of characters their proper time and lines. We didn't have a Pepe who would ALWAYS be there. While I do like MWoO I can see many of the flaws within it. Pepe did have too much screen time. The EM was seen for no real reason other...
I believe he started out on the actual street, but was soon put into skits. He was in al ot of them though. I remember him singing a good amount of songs. I still love carribean amphibian.
I do like the idea of a muppet horror movie if done right. It's one of the styles they haven't done yet. The only problem is can it been done properly.
Well Kermit will probably never appear on the show again ever. He barely was on when Kermit was with JHC and Sesame Street was sold to Sesame Workshop. Now that Disney owns Kermit I doubt he will ever visit the street again. I do know that he was on a couple of times after Jim Henson died...
Because sometimes people tear into a film before they even have a chance to think about what they just watched. I also feel the need to save the muppets from people, fans no less, that falsly say the Muppet are only meant for children and should be sanatized for them. It's simply wrong.
I'm...
There actually was a good deal of promotion on ABC and Disney channel. Disney ran 2 or 3 music videos from the movie as well as trailers. The muppets did commercials for 3 of ABC's top shows. They also did talk show spots, tv appearances, and all kindso f stuff to push the movie. They really...
There actually is a plan for a feature film according to a wall street journal article. It said it is planned for 2007. I am not sure if that is a 2007 release date or a 2007 production date. Either way it's pretty cool. I just hope it is a mopvie where they play themselves and a movie that...
You are totally right. It's all about who the characters are as well as the audience. The pron line is still a bit out there. I think that is simply because of who Steve is and you can assume his personality based on who his original characters are and how they act.
Also you have to consider Steve was in a spot there. He is whenever he is on a live show. Any performer is really. Even Jim found him self in a pickle now and then when he was doing Kermit live. I can't really take a live spot and judge the muppets on it.
I think MFS had a good Kermit who...
I too thought it was odd for Steve to get Foo Foo while Steve is clearly a main performer. Though I think his being a main performer is the reason Foo Foo was recast. Now we can have Foo Foo back with Piggy interacting with Kermit. We can relive that hilarious "oo-dee boo boo boo" moment from...
First, I post mostly in this thread because the movie needs defending against wrong opinions. By that I mean opinions based on false facts such as the following...
She is not a "rapper-wannaber". She is an R&B singer. Like her or not, she can actually sing. She can't always act, but she...
While it may be true that they wanted it to look cheezy, that doesn't mean it was the right way to go. I think it works for the dragon and the fire and the head, but not the woman/chicken. That was just too cheezy. I still liked it though, but that part was too cheezy.
While it would be nice if Frank decided to come back full time, it just won't happen. Of course everyone would rather the original performer of a role do the role. I'd rather Mel Blanc were still alive. I'd rather Jim Henson were alive. I'd rather Jerry Nelson stay with the Muppets instead...
