That's gotta be pretty nice being real close to the shore like that. And yes indeedy, Bob Grant is an AM radio host. For many years now (He's about 75). He lives in north NJ and broadcasts from NYCity (On WOR now, on WABC in the past; both are major enough stations that the reception can be...
Another one I just recall bits and pieces of is when The Cookie Monster was on a diet. The details I remember had CM inside Ernie and Bert's apartment with Ernie. I think Ernie was afraid CM was going to eat his cookies but CM declined. Ernie figured something must be wrong and asked him if he...
Hahaha true! But then again, I'm still in danger with eating out because if I want to get a pizza it may be a Yuck! (Don't know if you have seen or recall that one episode where Eb brought home a pizza he bought in Pixley and told Oliver all these weird ingredients it had on it [like chocolate...
I just checked and I'm at #148 ! Heh heh, actually, I would have guessed that far more people than 147 have made more posts than me since I've been here less than 3 months. So 148 is actually kind of neat. :D
Hey Vic, being that you're in north NJ I'll bet you know who Bob Grant is. :)
81 right now in Philly. Sunny (not a cloud in the sky, but haziness on the increase) and the humidity isn't awful (YET). By Friday the temps creep back up to 90 again. Course it IS summer officially.
My wife...
I didn't know that about Dick York (his helping the homeless), that's great to hear.
By the way, there was one character I enjoyed that a lot of people I've talked to seemed to hate and one character that got on my nerves that most seemed to get a kick out of. I thought Larry Tate was a good...
Oscar was always a pleasure to see, both when he would get annoyed (or I should say GROUCHY) at things and when he would delight in something (like seeing 2 people argue) and do his vintage "heh heh heh" laugh. One time I tuned into SS around the late 80's or early 90's I saw a very neat clip of...
I vote for the first Darrin, Dick York. I liked Dick Sargent too and thought he was capable, but Dick York made me laugh harder and also showed more anger and frustration to Endora, which added to the appeal (just like Eddie Albert was superb at his annoyed reactions to the loony Hootervillians!).
I just saw "Cinderella Man" this evening. I agree it is a wonderful movie. Ron Howard has done another outstanding directing job. Great acting throughout. Well paced and never dull despite being 2 and a half hours. Realistic boxing sequences too. Interestingly, I saw on this one site that there...
Thanks so much for including me in that list, D'Snowth. As Uncle Jesse would say in "Full House" , "Right back atcha!" And thanks to all of you MC folks. I really enjoy this place.
Yes "Bewitched" was a very well done show. Consistently enjoyable, creative, and funny. I loved that episode you listed about Endora fighting with Uncle Arthur over that house. Near the end Samantha says things have gotten way out of hand and demands that they kiss and make up. Uncle Arthur says...
Actually, those and the other dvd features CAN be utilized on the computer!
I just played another "Jeffersons" episode and didn't have the picture maximized on the screen this time. Underneath is an image of a dvd player and you can use pause, stop, fastforward, play again, etc. just like an...
Not sure if that happened in the same one or not. And yes, Herbert wasn't in this one. I was going to comment on this barbell scene in the Grover thread, but since I remembered the Herbert and Grover skit with Grover lifting the "help" weights I thought I'd do it in connection with that one.
I'm pretty sure it was. I forgot a lot of what happens in it but recall the hilarious finale. When along comes the spider he says to KERMIT, "Hey frog!"
Kermit is scared and says, "Ooh what a fearful looking beast!" The spider says, "I've come to frighten you away." Kermit then turns to the...
So they walked and walked and walked and...
I don't remember this one Xerus described with Big Bird tired of eating birdseed. Being it was late 70's it was probably just after I stopped watching SS regularly. I wanted to mention, however, a Big Bird memory I have from about 1974 or 5. At the...
Just thought of something somewhat similar Sesame Street showed (yes I did those consecutive s words on purpose!). Grover lifted a barbell and as he is holding it he is really struggling. He says, "Oh this barbell is so heavyyyyy."
Then he falls down. But I don't recall anything else of this skit.
Hey I tried them in the computer drive and got to see "The Jeffersons"! :)
I didn't realize that dvds would play on my comp; thought I had to have something to enable it. Pretty neat! I was also at my bro's house today and they work on his dvd player. He has a Sony and Sony is who puts out...
Not at all, Bear. I just hope you weren't upset at me when I had a different opinion on Maria being a teenager that one time. I was trying to respectfully state the reasons I had a different view on what SS intended Maria to be on the show while also acknowledging that your view may indeed be...
