New Muppet Caper Movie 2013 Official Thread

I don't get all the talk about the title. It most likely is just a place holder. Heck, the title was announced before a page was even written. What else should they have called it? Once the movie is written then a title can be created. It will either be a title like the first 6 movies or it...

    Who's voicing Ernie here?

If this is Artie doing Ernie's voice then he's pretty good. At least the voice is good. My main issue with Artie's Kermit was the puppetry and Kermit's singing voice. Steve has made Kermit into a rather good singer. Jim could carry a tune but not to the extent Steve can. Artie was not that...

    Why can't penguins talk anymore?

Interesting note. I was watching some muppets tonight episodes and watched the Whoopie Goldberg episode where the penguins sang in quacks followed by the Martin Short episode where the penguins sang in English. Those episodes aired right after one another! What the hey?

    Why can't penguins talk anymore?

Also they sang stepping out with my baby in the Martin Short episode. So at some point they could still speak after Jim passed away but it seems more often than not after 1990 penguins couldn't speak and it has now become a rule if sorts.

    Why can't penguins talk anymore?

In MTM they sand the line "they're finally getting married now" right before piggy enters the wedding scene. They sing it clear and not in the penguin speak we now know. Also I believe Dave played a penguin looking for a job at Pete's right after the rats got hired. Again, clear as day he said...

    Why can't penguins talk anymore?

It was said during the commentary of The Muppets that they wanted to give the penguins a line in lifes a happy song but were told penguins can't talk in the muppet universe. This has been accepted for some time now. However when watching older productions like the muppet show and the muppets go...

    "The Muppets" isn't the Muppets

I think if you jump from 1990 to 2011 you would t recognize the muppets at all. Almost the entire cast of characters has been recast. Certain characters haven't interacted in years. Certain characters have changed since the recasts, and even before. So yes, when you compare TMS and the original...

Who wants the future Muppet movies to be...

I just.....I can't.....NO! The muppets are puppets. They interact in the real world. They are extensions of their performers. Kermit's actions and mannerisms are all from Steve's performance. That would all be replaced by an animators interpretation of Kermit. Plus you totally loose the ability...

New Muppet movie in development for potential 2013 release

The movie isn't canon but Walters personality and basic back story are. He's still a muppet fan that gets to work with the muppets. That's his character. It's like the muppet movie. Scooter wasn't really the bands road manager, but his character is still the same. The difference is that Walter...

New Muppet movie in development for potential 2013 release

Scooter training a new "go for" is a neat idea too. Like giving the intern an intern type of deal. That's a great new dynamic they could set up. I can already see an episode if the muppet show where Walter gets his own intern, kind if like topo sticky getting his own little topo sticky.
