I see pitching for the NY Mets in the bottom of the ninth inning right now is a guy with this name . Hooper Hooper! Just thought I'd do this for fun. :)
He's a pretty good pitcher too (must be at over $5 million a year salary, eh!)
By the way, Muppets Rule if you see this post I wanted to...
That's true Mike. I was just giving a brief overview of the show to Mrs. Pepper and mentioned the similarities to SS and the difference that it lacked muppets. But there were other little differences as well, such as the emphasis on reading and letters and not numbers, and the aim towards a...
Like Sesame Street, The Electric Company is a PBS children's television show (1971-1977) put out by Children's Television Workshop. It lacked the muppets though. It also didn't quite have the magic or level of brilliance of SS either, in my opinion. However I still enjoyed it a great deal. Like...
The Electric Company dvd is already available for pre-ordering on Amazon!
It's $34.99 and it's called "Best of the Electric Company". Currently it's ranked #6913 in amazon dvd sales. But I'll bet (and hope) it will eventually be #1 as was "The Muppet Show". :)
Yeah it's hard to predict how the Cowboys will do this year. My guess is that they will have a better year but still fall short of the playoffs at about 8-8. They have upgraded well on defense, Bill Parcells is a great coach, but a lot is going to depend on how Drew Bledsoe does (but he should...
Once again. another day slightly on the warm side (82F,28C) but sunny, nice, and low humidity. Still warm enough where I needed to turn on the indoor A/C here for a while.
Heatin' up lasagna right now for din din. Nummy!
Hey that would be a good question for TA's weekly survey: Ginger or Mary Ann? :)
Though I say Ginger hands down, I wouldn't be surprised if Mary Ann would win. Seems like over the years I've heard more pick her when that question comes up. Same with "Three's Company". For Janet or Chrissy...
I loved the theme song too. Definitely ranks as one of the best. The show itself, yes it's silly. And I can see why the critics considered it inane. But while never one of my top favorites, if I came across it on tv it was hard to change the channel. It was good, pleasant escapism. The...
In this debut appearance of Sam the Robot did Sam say, "Machines are perfect, are perfect, are perfect, are.." (Then the human hits him on the side and he says, "Thank you.") ? I recall many scenes with Sam utilizing this so was just wondering if they used it right from the start.
Just posted about this yesterday, Ethan Lopez. :) The news of this actually came out in June and a thread was started about it. It looks like the discs will be a "best of" with 24 episodes, which will be really fun to see again. Can't wait!
Here's the thread
Just heard on the radio that Gilligan (Bob Denver) has died. He was 70. The Skipper (Alan Hale) died about 15 years ago at 71. As he would say to Gilligan, "Rest in peace, little buddy."
Humidity is a little up today but still pretty nice weather. In the 70's now going up to low or mid 80's.
Still haven't eaten yet. I have today off so slept in a little. Gotta do a couple errands soon so I'll get something tasty to eat while I'm out. :D
Thanks for doing those, Kimp. It'd be fun if there will be several doing them here and we can have a winner from MC each week. :)
I just submitted my entries at Yahoo. Here's what I entered for the tie breaker questions:
Who will score the most points-> NY Jets
Who will score the least...
I don't recall these two so I'm not sure if it was her or not. I think the latest I recall even seeing this was about '73 or '74 so perhaps it was one old clip from about 1970 that they discontinued after awhile. I can picture exactly how the lady's voice sounds but can't recall the specific...
Happy birthday to Preston! And a Sesame Street themed party with SS cuppycakes (that's what CM called them in a skit with Ernie back around 1970) is really celebrating in style! :)
There were some catchy d segments. A popular one I've seen people mention a lot as their favorite is the "d d d d Daddy dear oh Daddy sweet..."
Also with the Cookie Monster and Ernie song "d dd ddddd don't throw dishes down on the floor. do a dance. dig some dirt. and dunk a donut for...
Remember a film about eyes that showed a closeup of a lot of children's eyes? I remember it showed the various different color of pupils and some other distinctions. A lady was singing the words about the differences in eye characteristics and there was musical background. From what I recall of...
