I could consider the N64 and PS1 to be old school, but not the Dreamcast yet. It's only been about 16 years since it came out in the late 90s, and only about 7 years since games stopped being released in Japan. I'd wait a bit longer before saying the Dreamcast is old school.
When I went shopping for my mother shortly before Christmas, I went to Best Buy and bought the DVD of Muppets Most Wanted. I am super excited to watch it all the way through for the first time!
It's going to be hard to watch Dexter's Laboratory and Rugrats for a while. They were good shows, and DL was one of my favorite cartoons back in the day. :-(
I always thought Prince's song "1999" was from 1984, hearing that it has the similar synthesizer/new wave vibe like in other songs from that year ("When Doves Cry", "I Would Die for U"). But last night, I learned that it was actually from 1982, and not 1984.

Actually, count me in that group. I use Chrome at my house (I hardly use Firefox on my laptop anymore because I chose not to update to the new look two years ago), and I'm getting that problem.
I always thought it was just background processes on my computer (you know, Norton AntiVirus running...
Merry Christmas to everyone!
I got a lot of presents, including some clothes and books. Most of them are books about Jim Henson and Sesame Street. I can't wait to start reading them. :)
I got Peace for Christmas. The Peace brand by AXE that is. But really, Peace on Earth would be a...
Played some Nintendo 64 tonight, and I think I may dig out Paper Mario and play it again. I'm listening to the soundtrack right now, specifically this piece:
So while Big Bird has just one video (Big Bird Sings!) honoring him, Elmo now has THREE videos? Sorry, but while I appreciate Elmo's success, I would take a Best Of video honoring Big Bird over this. He is the true star of the show, and he ought to have a Best Of video again. It's been just...
I'm curious to know why when you change video quality, the gear icon starts spinning, but to make it stop, you have to either press play or click a point on the playbar. Is there a way to just wait until the gear stops spinning?
This morning, I had a dream where it was like an action/sci-fi movie. It took place at an urban university, and it involved brick buildings and students who at a certain point made a chemical reaction that would blow up the building (kinda sad, but it was like a disaster movie). I was on a team...
I cannot agree with you more. The one with Flo's "assistant" and her nasal-toned "Nailed it!" line is especially bizarre (at least after a short while).
I'm getting sick of all the HT usage in commercials, especially with Toys R Us, now that they're incorporating them into their ads. It seems...
Nice job! It looks very much like the real Cookie Monster. I think the right pupil could be slightly lower and inwards to match the other one, but for the most part, it looks fantastic. The voice is great as well! :insatiable:
Also, in the first picture, I see what looks like purple and pink...
Yeah, it was the 3/15/1995 episode with the OXIDIZED puzzle. It can get a bit aggravating hearing the same fake groan over and over again. It gets to the point where it seems like there's no live audience at all, and that it's just Pat, Vanna, Charlie and the three contestants in the studio...
I'm surprised no one has brought up game shows in this thread yet. I take it that not a lot of people here watch game shows?
But yes, game shows used them, too. If you watch episodes of Wheel of Fortune and Family Feud from the early 1990s, you'll tell there's laugh tracks and canned applause...
