I always enjoyed ventriloquist acts like Shari and Lambchop. My favorite is Willie Tyler and Lester. A couple of years ago I bought a Lambchop for my ex-fiance and she loved it.
The Rapunzel skit certainly goes back to just about my earliest days of remembering viewing SS so it wouldn't surprise me if it's the first. The other News Flash segment that goes way back for me is the Tortoise and the Hare. That one was also VERY FUNNY! :)
Thanks. As a child I never was able to make out all of those words he was singing.
I see the original "Everybody eats" (also the "sleeps" one) is now there. How about that person that fed the hippo so closely? I would think that'd be dangerous to put your hand so near its mouth. But I guess...
This one was also uploaded on youtube a while ago. It hadn't been that long since I last saw it though so I already had it in perfect memory. I always loved the exchange:
Kermit: Would you mind sharing your plan to rescue Rapunzel from the tower?
Prince Charming: Yesh
Kermit: Oh you do...
Hi redBoobergurl (a newlywed :) ) good to see you as well. And yeah it was taking forever for a post to go through and I ended up with a triple post. And looks like someone else just triple posted a new thread. So must be the site right now. Other sites are working at normal speed for me. :)...
Well as of 4pm now the high is still at 98. So I don't know if we'll make the 100 they were forecasting. Of course, it varies from place to place so just because the Philly airport and my borough are 98 doesn't mean it isn't 100 somewhere nearby, I guess.
Looks like it's pretty much hot in the...
Brand new one on youtube today that I just viewed - "Sesame Street Signs Alphabet". Great fun seeing and hearing this one again! I love the music throughout as the camera goes all over various signs and fixtures in early 70's NYCity with the voice of an unseen boy enthusiastically shouting out...
I hadn't noticed the slight differences before you pointed this out. Interesting. I can see it being either like GeeBee said from season one, or just various ways they were experimenting with the picture, like Java theorized.
And in the youtube thread I referenced a lot of recent great clips...
Well actually 90 is a nice cool down for Monday, redboobergurl, considering here Monday is going to be 100! (with heat index of 110). They say next Monday-Friday wlll be 100,100,98,96,94. And humid. For quite a while we've been in a heat and humidity wave, but Monday it gets REALLY brutal. It's...
Yes and one I enjoyed seeing recently was that one with Victor Borge reading the story that we talked about in the past. I had recalled him saying, "And that was the end of that. And this is the end of this." But I had forgotten about the part where he said, "So the dragon took that and that and...
I don't expect this will get much if any responses since to have seen this show you probably have to be just about as old as me. But I am enjoying very much season one on dvd that I got a couple weeks ago. I used to love this show when they showed it in reruns in the early 70's (original...
Well been a while since I've posted here. I've been glad seeing youtube continues having more vintage SS segments. The latest one I see is the animated number elimination one. And it's interesting, as the person who submitted it mentioned, that the word "character" was spelled incorrectly (as...
Someone at work today, in anger at the Brewers for sweeping Philly, referred to them as the Milwaukee SEWERS! But he said they look like they really have a good ball club this year and if they just had a couple more good pitchers they could really be there. Pitching seems to have been a chronic...
I wasn't clueless on it. I said I think it is the skit where Ernie has ice cubes and they melt. In fact, I'm almost positive it is this one, since there is a box and that's where Ernie had the cubes. And as I said, you can really tell Bert says, "They melt" , and then at the end, "Go get em'...
I think it's the skit where Ernie has ice cubes but then they melt and he, being ignorant of that concept, thinks someone stole them. Bert explains that ice melts. But then it concludes with Ernie saying someone melted his ice cubes. I think he blames a fish for some reason (perhaps because the...
Lyrics to the Kangaroo song
I can't find the lyrics to the Kangaroo song on any SS lyrics site, so I thought I'd write them out from listening to the video that was recently uploaded on youtube that we discussed. And maybe there's some here who are unable to view youtube videos and haven't seen...
Well the "red hot" Phillies are no longer that, thanks to a three game sweep at the hands of the Brew Crew.
And I'm glad to see that Barry Bonds still hasn't hit #714, though of course it's inevitable that he will eventually.
Well then it looks pretty encouraging for classic SS to finally hit dvd. It'll really be exciting once we see an official news release, such as on tvshowsondvd.com. Hopefully the dvds will include a lot of things not shown on Noggin's Unpaved episodes, so as to really give us a treat to look...
