Heh. I paste it in, then switch to code mode and copy and paste that into another Word documen. I do a search-and replace on all font codes, replacing them with nothing, then paste that back into the post. Presto, all the font codes are stripped out, and the rest--like bold, italics...
I've started writing "A Wandering Heart." Here are a few bits of developmental art.
Fraggle Doodle Dump: Cantus: I finally bit the bullet and spent some quality time with my DVDs, a pen & paper, and the pause button. I think I have a better handle on him, though I still am guessing about his...
Cantus often has a purpose besides just making music. In The Bells of Fraggle Rock he guided Gobo through a crisis of faith. In Junior Faces the Music he got Junior to play the royal kazoo, sealing his destiny as the next Gorg king. In The Honk of Honks he drilled in the point that, for the...
What is wrong with posting one's fanfiction.net username and link here? I'd think that, in a thread about Fraggle fic on that site, showing your support for it would be a good thing. It's encouraged me to go check out some fics that I wouldn't have seen here.
Heh. I've been posting my fic there. Not everything here has made it to ff.net, but what is up there is slightly edited 'cause I always find a last few typos or rough spots after I post it here. The edits are just cosmetic, though, so if you've read it here already don't feel obligated to check...
I just bought (and, last night) watched my first Bollywood film, Enthiran. It is just amazing. Kind of like someone took the basic concepts behind Isaac Asimov's I, Robot, gave it a huge CGI budget, and threw in some insane song-and-dance numbers. It's a long finm, but I consider it three...
I think it's simply a logistical issue. You can't operate two characters, one on each hand, if you want them to be doing anything more complex than singing in the background, and when you look at such scenes it's easy to pick out which characters are being operated by the same puppeteer. If you...
I think they have school in the sense of imparting knowledge and skills to others, but not in the sense of force-feeding it into 'em for their entire childhood. Accoeding to "Gobo's School for Explorers" it seems to me to be a voluntary thing.
When I saw this thread title, I thought that they were puppets of pedigree Fraggles. "Here we have a Golden Wembler, and here's a rare Feathered Warbler..."
Everyone looks cute while playing a slide whistle. Even Wander McMooch would look cute playing a slide whistle. If you don't believe me, tie him up and stick a slide whistle in his mouth.
Thanks, BZB. I think I'm going to have to sit in front of paused DVD frames with a sketch pad if I want to get his full costume down. Oops, that may be a spoiler for my next doodle dump. Page full o' Cantus. And Murray, I have a scene I want to draw with him.
Nope, no 'stache. He had feathers outlining his head and one frather on his chin like a beard, though. In fact, he's always looked a bit birdlike to me. Since we have mammal fraggles and fish fraggles, why not bird fraggles?
It is a slide whistle. Cantus played some sort of mouth-harp thing in "Mokey and The Minstrels," and in "The Honk of Honks" he didn't approve of the title until it contained a Doozer tower, a Gorg curler, and a swoopfoomer. I imagine he could coax music out of a slide whistle; just think of it...
This thread is starting to remind me of a certain Simon & Garfunkel song.
Cantus the Minstrel is gonna figure heavily in my next story, so I figured I'd better bite the bullet and learn to draw him. I admit, I've been intimidated by him. He's hard to find reference material for, and his...
