Sam and Friends Book Read our review of the long-awaited book, "Sam and Friends - The Story of Jim Henson's First Television Show" by Muppet Historian Craig Shemin.
Posted this video in the What Made You Smile Thread. 'Cause it put a huge goofy grin on my face.
It is really great to see the full six-piece EM Band back in action, and to see Sam the Eagle getting down with his bad self. Sam definitely steals the show with his antics (bravo to Eric...
First, I find the timing of this to be ironic. There are so many celebrity couples like Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert, Ben Affleck & Jennifer Garner, and Gwen Stefani & Gavin Rossdale who have recently announced their own splits and/or divorces.
Second, Kermit never seemed to be the jerk in...
Awesome clip, and another hilarious Grouchy performance by Caroll Spinney and Jerry Nelson (Susan's great as always). Can you try to touch up/repair the video quality on this one? I understand if that's not possible, but I'd just like to ask if you could do that. Thanks!

you've written a letter to the President asking if he can drive down your street every day to keep the street clean.

Ernest: Boy, that peanut butter, pickles, ketchup, and sauerkraut was really great!
Oscar: Yeah, it sure was! Except you had more than I did.
Ernest: Of course I did! I should have had more. You were nicer than I was!
Oscar: ME? I was not! You were nicer than I ever was.
Ernest: No way, flea...
I can't think of any other episodes that recycled a plot, but the 1991 remake even had the same sponsors as the original. And I'm assuming that Jerry Nelson reprised his role as Ernest. This is easily one of my favorite videos from your channel...thanks so much for uploading it!
A hilarious street story from season 8 that would later be recycled a decade later. If this doesn't show the great chemistry between Caroll Spinney and Jerry Nelson, nothing does. Anyone else think that Ernest sounds like a sleazier version of Floyd Pepper? :grouchy::sing:
Man, they wouldn't...
The 7700th post in this thread and my 900th on this forum! Here's a jazz version of the Sesame Street theme, as performed by trumpeter Maynard Ferguson and his band.
How about this one?
So I get the educational point about brushing teeth...but it's so poorly set up. You can't sing well unless you brush your teeth? Seriously. And in terms of what makes this most disturbing: the talking, toothy bird almost looks furry. And the hands breaking through the...
Yes, it does remind me of Miss Kitty...I wonder if the MS puppet builders took a page from the SS crew?
And look at some of the Sesame skits from 1973-1974: "Dialing for Prizes Movie," "Grover's Empty Telephone Booth," and "Bip's Some-None-All Song" feature some pretty non-standard monsters...
I'd be interested to hear what this creature's voice sounded like. All the info we've got is here:

To me it looks like a season 4 bit, just by the look of the puppet and Hooper's Store checkered front. Additionally, that picture doesn't show that he's...
And more great news (not to take away from this great find), but ALL SIX episodes of the Sesame Street Hawaii trip have been uploaded!

Huge thanks to whoever found this! This certainly lived up to my high expectations, given that there's been lots of speculation about this skit for years. I'm pretty sure that only a few of us on the forum saw this skit when it first aired (1973-1974), and I don't think it was shown much more...
You might be an obsessed Muppet fan if you SEE THE SMALL BALL ON THE TALL WALL, SEE IT FALL IN THE HALL, SEE IT CRAWL, GIVE ITS ALL AND CALL HI Y'ALL, SEE IT STALL WEAR A SHAWL OH YEEEAAAAHHHHH!!!!!
Just checked the Henson Rarities channel and found some goodies! A rare Ed Sullivan performance with Kermit and Grover (1970), and a presumably incomplete Muppet Show sketch taped for the Montreaux Award (1977).
That's basically the essence of it. The song was from a Swedish movie and Jim used it to create a classic "upstaging" sketch similar to Java and Hugga-Wugga. It's a rather simple premise, but it works so well. I also feel that "Mahna Mahna" also provides great contrast to the skits with...
