Murray, no. Telly, yes.
I agree that Telly should get more exposure. He's a very dimensional, well-rounded, yet underappreciated character. As for Murray...
One of the reasons I don't really dig Murray is because of his overuse on the show. Think of how many Murray segments you see in...
That sounds like an excellent idea for a Muppet cooking show. A story works so much better with Muppet-brand conflict like that. Guest stars not wanting to do stuff and the Muppets driving them crazy has worked wonderfully before. Muppets often excel at driving humans bananas by just being...
I haven't seen all of the clips yet, but here's my two cents.
The funniest thing I've seen so far is the Bunsen and Beaker Frankenstein parody. I also liked the Bear on Patrol sketch and Pepe knowing he's in front of a green screen.
But these are the Muppets I know and love. Cat and...
Not to step on anyone's toes but...
Alternative music. Is it as dead as disco now? It was a big deal in the late 90's, then boy bands took it over. I loved the show "Daria", but anything else popular from that time was just too whiny and angsty for me. Alternative music was supposed to be...
I've listened to this interview several times and I never get tired of it. I love listening to him talk about his life, his pre-Muppet work and of course his career as Big Bird and Oscar.
I love his distaste for "Friendly Village" (see part 3 at the 9:20 mark) and also in part 3, it gets...
Hey Ryan,
Just wanted to thank you again for posting the info about the Sesame Street exhibit on the Muppet Mindset! I'm going to tell my boss about it. I also emailed a bunch of other people about it, too. Can't say who right now, but let's just say they know a lot about Sesame Street...
It's online!
The exhibit is now online for everyone to see! More about it will be on the Muppet Mindset very soon, but this is the website for it that my boss put together:
http://www.library.illinois.edu/ugl/exhibits/sesame/index.html
FYI, some of the links are still under construction...
Ain't that the truth! There's a fanfic story I wrote a while ago called "The Best Neighbor". The villain in it had breath inspired by some of my old classmates. I swear, it smelled like someone burned a plate of rotten sausages and then rolled 'em in expired mayonnaise. Tic Tacs aren't...
The first thing I thought of when I read that was Doc at his workbench: "Sprockie? Have you seen that solar system? It was right next to my stave shaver..." (Doc ruffles through his tool box, tossing planets over his shoulder).
But your theory is valid. Think of Doc's inventions (that huge...
Sandals are open, so they don't attract the same bacteria as say, a sneaker would. You know what? A friend of mine told me that there was a school in Hawaii that let their students and staff go barefoot if they wanted. Of course that's Hawaii.:D

I must say, my favorite parts of the exhibet are the "People in Your Neighborhood" section, the baker display (it almost looks like an an honorary Palisades Toys figure and playset), the section on monsters who originated on The Ed Sullivan Show, the storyboards (I don't ever remember seeing...
Thank you! It was truly the best part of the exhibit! They looked at my research and were quite impressed! They both loved the drawing of Mr. Looper, I mean Hooper. :)

But I do have some nitpicky comments:
There's one section with four pictures, two on top and two underneath. There's no good enough pictures of this section yet, but it seems to showcase appearances by famous cartoon characters not associated with the show. So we get images from Sesame Street...
Same here! Luckily, my boss doesn't mind if I work in my socks. (She said she's done it herself):) I sit behind a desk for some of the workday and our patrons (some of whom take their shoes off anyway) couldn't care less about what I'm wearing (or not wearing) on my feet. As long as I help...
Thanks! I can't wait until the websites are up with the background photos/pages. Should be soon, though.
I really loved working on this! It's fun to watch the people go by and look at everything. There are a lot of people who are only going into college now, so they only now Sesame Street...
It did! Thank you!
And guess what?
The pictures are now online! WOOHOO!:excited:
They're on Photobucket for now, but that's good enough. Soon, all of them, will be online. I wanted to get photos of the physical stuff in the exhibit, props, replicas, stuff like that. You will see all...
Well folks, the Sesame Street exhibit is almost ready to be put up. Just got a few more pages (plus some credits) to put in it and it's done. Just thought I'd give a quick mention before the full report.
I did think of a final miscellaneous bit I could add...if I can get the right image...
You could try this. I just happened to stumble across it while doing some research for my exhibit. Just scroll down and you'll see him.

You got some good stuff listed there. Many's the night when I worked late on an art project in my apartment and they'd play Three's Company in the wee hours of the morning.
Have you seen this? It's an NBC promo that features a bunch of stars from the 80s. They played 'em all the time in 86...
