Sam and Friends Book Read our review of the long-awaited book, "Sam and Friends - The Story of Jim Henson's First Television Show" by Muppet Historian Craig Shemin.
More likely, it was just a natural development (as they have always developed, certainly when MTM was released people may have questioned "Was it Jim Henson's choice to give Miss Piggy that horrendous hair?")
However, I do wonder about Fozzie's much much softer look. Has he been redesigned to...
I'm guessing that the fasted way to get Fanmail to them these days would be to send it via. Disney. Any suggestions on the best address to use there?
Remember the "Postcards to Steve" campaign (related to the One Muppet, One Voice campaign). What address did we use for those?
Is that what happens if you don't let Long John get away at the end? -- Because I am certain that he wouldn't have allowed that to happen. -- Or is it what happens if you don't give him your compass?
It does any me that they end the movie with that, slightly, annoying "Love Power" tune...but even that sure beats what they did with MFS. I'm a huge fan of the soundtrack (songs and background music) for MTI though...but they'd never be released as singles, the way that the original songs can be.
Did you really feel the songs were weak? Maybe because I heard them when I was young and grew up with them, I've always really loved them. Especially Sailing for Adventure and Cabin Fever. None of the songs progress the story, but they sure set the scene and they are great production numbers...
GAH! I just lost loads off my comments on the second half of this movie because the editing time was passed...
I just LOVE Miss Piggy in this movie though, was sort of what I had to say about that half.
I'm watching Muppet Treasure Island at the moment, and keep having a few random thoughts about it, so thought I'd start up a thread and keep editing the post as I go along with some commentary.
My goodness do I love the soundtrack for this movie. It helps hat I'm a HUGE Treasure Island fan as...
Indeed, Jim may have always intended for them to be as perfectly formed as possible -- hence their constant adjustments throughout the TMS eras.
However, I honestly LOVED when they looked less airbrushed and more lived in. It is a little like comparing old James Bond movies to new ones I...
So, today, at work (in England) I was talking about robots with a colleague when she suddenly went, "80ss Roobot" in his voice. And then I laughed and she said she had seen it on the Simpsons, and I said, "Are you sure?" and then she suddenly realized that it was from The Muppets, and had to...
Well, despite its general lack-of-fans, that song has still managed to beat Table for One as favorite in the poll so far. How rude! I'm SUCH a fan of the original Table for One situation and song!
Interestingly, Apple Trailers now has a new clip of the movie which is just Amy showing up at the restaurant and being greeted by Sarah Silverman...Weird decision for a clip, in my opinion.
I think I prefer Piggy's verse in Me Party, to the Amy Adams verse. I'm not too sure why Adams voice is so loud in this version of the song though, while I can barely hear all Piggy's lyrics.
Ooh, thought I'd revive this thread as the new Season of this show is really fantastic. Each episode continues to surprise, shock and disturb, but also make me laugh out loud.
Interesting to see how the cast of Puppet characters has greatly expended this year (lots of dogs, random one-episode...
So according to this article here, Frank Oz wasn't overly happy with the concept or the script or the dynamic of The Muppets Take Manhatten, either. Maybe he has something against the Muppets splitting up? (After all, it was he (I think?) who says that they each have a part to play against each...
