there is at least one performance that survives. It is weird that it seems like there were at least three different renditions of the song (and within a short period of time of each other), as opposed to them all being the same segment.
It is interesting, years ago I thought it was rare for...
In Aladdin, after Genie is free, he asks Aladdin to wish for something to see if he’s truly free. However, Aladdin had already used up all three wishes (unless Genie had decided not to count Aladdin’s wish to be saved from drowning). So regardless of whether Genie was free, he wouldn’t have had...
9 to 5 (Morning Train)
I’ve been randomly singing parts of the song (and at times making up my own lyrics) but for some reason people were just acting like noting was happening when I did.
I don’t think Sesame Workshop has recovered any of the lost episodes. Screenshots that have been added since the wiki discovered episodes are lost come from other sources (such as early episodes of Sesamstrasse, the first three seasons included dubbed street scenes from the domestic show).
I recently got a DVD copy of this. The picture frame it comes with is neat. It’s illustrated, with many characters, don’t think it has anybody who’s not in the discs content.
this has been available for about three months and yet Muppet Wiki still doesn’t have a picture of the frame.
Wow, those two episodes look so awesome. I wish those had been chosen for the 50th anniversary release. Here’s hoping someday there’ll be a similar Cookie Monster release with old school street stories, those would make good conclusions.
Cookie Monster watching and eating Hooper’s Store is one...
Not sure if this is for this thread or not, but seen on Muppet Wiki some editing history noted “misinterpretation in CTW Archives”, for Counting is Wonderful and a few episodes. I assume those are all episodes that previously listed the segment (the wiki page for Counting is Wonderful now lists...
TV Tropes says that Northern Calloway was not allowed to be in Follow That Bird due to it being done in Canada.
Regarding Elmo's World, it seems like the main 123 Sesame Street building (and to an extent around the corner) was the only regular place to be a central part of the film. The...
At first I thought the girl with Bert and Bart was supposed to be Bertha. A character the fans didn’t really know about until this past year. Would she have made an appearance of trusted soruces/rare episodes hadn’t made their way to Muppet Wiki?
i don’t think it’s that big a surprise that they...
I’ve seen a Facebook movement to boycot using YouTube from the tenth to thirteenth. Not sure if that would do any good, and I’m not really sure of all that’s suggested (so don’t use YouTube at all, even if you’re not using it to watch anything? Just don’t watch anything there? Just don’t upload...
This is sad news, though I figured the end was near.
Interestingly, last night I had a dream in which I learned something new about how Bruno worked, something involving his hands.
these past few days the Muppet Wiki forum has had a few discussions on him.
I don’t really want to turn this thread into a thread about the actual lost episodes (we kinda already have a thread for that), but most of those do sound interesting. The stuff I’m most bummed about are the character debut episodes and most of the season three Snuffy-centric episodes. I’m also...
I’m remembering a commercial from the late 1990s. The main thing I remember was that it featured a sports team, the coach told his players, in an angry tone, “we’re not here to have fun. We’re here to win! So win!” I’m thinking maybe it was in black and white. Since it features a sports team, I...
if the episode wasn’t withheld from future airings, I think there’d still be an audience of fans interested in seeing it, as it features a character from The Wizard of Oz, played by the same cast member. Crossover episodes are exciting.
interesting that lost episodes were brought up. Ever...
I’ll have to look back at the editing history (from when the info came from a Japanese program guide). A lot of that is different from what I expected (and I’m sure some of the info from that odd guide was just omitted from the user).
I didn’t realize Hooper’s Store being in competition was a...
According to Muppet Wiki, the DVD release of Sesame Street’s 50th Anniversary Celebration includes some of the celebrity favorite moments (like the PBS broadcast does), but they also lead to the full clips discussed. Kinda cool, though not anything real high on my wishlist (there are a few...
I hope that weird animated version of Being Green surfaces someday (assuming it did air on the show), whatever it is.
When I think “weird animated Bein Green”, I think of a portion from a commercial for a Sesame Street album (I forget the title now, one of those greatest hits-type albums...
