The Muppets are incredibly self-aware. Kermit (and Steve) will have almost immediately picked up on the fan-comments that Kermit was sad in the movie, and immediately found fun ways to play with that self-awareness.
Well, yes, I knew that, but for me it was the way that the Lizardness randomly wore off that wasn't really explained and seemed a bit of a plot-hole. And I guess I just couldn't take him seriously as a threat at any point. And, as usual, he went from zero-crazy in about three scenes...
I think they are similar to chickens, sheep and Beaker. They probably know HOW to speak, but its no doubt hard for them (being more accurate to animal shape Puppets, they probably have more accurate to animal anatomy as well, voice boxes, etc.) Chickens, sheep and penguins have all spoken at...

I still think it would be great to have a Mayhem based Mockumentary on one of the music channels one day. They could get fake interviews with lots of famous musicians about how the Mayhem have been a big influence, etc.
Father Moppet: *nodding patiently and wishing he had never even asked and wondering if there's any chance of a nice cup of tea and also thinking a comfortable chair would be good*
