Yep. Haven't read it yet, but from what I can see (at least for issue 1), it doesn't do the pointless multi-issue story the RS (and possibly the AT one too. I love the show and have most of the comics, but I've just never read them) comic often does.

My first reaction to that was "Who the eff is Maria?" Now that I know, my reaction is "Why are they obsessed with her? I have seen every episode of Arthur at least once and I have never noticed her."
If we're giving meaningless background characters their own episodes, why not that really...
