Sam and Friends Book Read our review of the long-awaited book, "Sam and Friends - The Story of Jim Henson's First Television Show" by Muppet Historian Craig Shemin.
Hi there. I was just curious if anyone out there has a video clip of Cheryl Henson accepting the Quill Award for the book, "It's Not Easy Being Green: And Ohter Things to Consider". If anyone does, could they please post it on youtube or something? Thanks.
I myself have tremendous admiration for Cheryl Henson as well. She is so terrific at keeping her fathers vision and legacy alive. Of all the kids that Jim had, she is the one I admire the most. God bless her.
You've done it again Phil. Such a fantastic review. It is just so wonderful to finally see Michael Frith and Kathy Mullan interviewd in here. I am especially grateful to see Gerry Parks on this set. I don't think any of us Muppet fans have seen him since he appeared in the "Muppet Family...
"Henson 's Fantastic World" Any Updates Yet?
I haven't heard anything on this subject in quite a while and I just wasn't sure if anyone has heard anything yet about the Smithsonian's traveling exhibit "Jim Henson's Fantastic World". If anyone knows anything or has any updates, please let me...
Fantastic. I'll probably buy the set for myself and ask for the Fraggle Rock: Season 3 set for Christmas. Anyway, can't wait for November. Hurray for Old School. :p :( :grouchy:
It just gets better and better each day as the release date gets closer and closer. i can't wait to see the review here on MuppetCentral.:excited: :excited: :excited:
This is just my guess, but I think that the reason the exhibit will not be ready until 2012 because some of the puppets that they hope to put on display will be used for the traveling exhibit, "Jim Henson's Fantastic World". But then again, that is only my guess.
I can't wait to see what they will put on that box set. I am reeeeeeeaaaaaallllllly hoping that they put in the Dick Cavett appearance on Nov. 25th, 1971.
There is a book that Carl Barks published in 1981 called "The Fine Art of Walt Disney's Donald Duck", which was mostly oil paintings that Carl did throughout the 70's, as well as pencil sketches and comic strips. The book originally sold at $150.00, but because only 1,875 copies were printed...
Don Rosa is a brilliant duck artist also. I have his book, "The life and Times of Scrooge McDuck", which won the Will Eisner award in 1995. You can find it on www.amazon.com.
Have any of you Disney comics fans out there ever heard of Carl Barks? He is what most have have called the "Good Duck Artist" since he is known for his drawings and stories based on Donald Duck and friends. He is also the creator of such characters as Scrooge McDuck, Gyro Gearloose, Gladstone...
