Sam and Friends Book Read our review of the long-awaited book, "Sam and Friends - The Story of Jim Henson's First Television Show" by Muppet Historian Craig Shemin.
From memory, as best as I can:
Alexandra--a small orange AM with black pigtails and sleepy eyes.
Alexandra's Father--a tall orange AM with sleepy eyes, black hair and moustache, glasses, and pear-shaped nose.
Sam--a small pink AM with orange hair.
Sams Mom--a lavendar AM with sleepy eyes...
Does anybody remember a pair of female pigeons on the show? I think they appeared during the early 90s.
What were their names?
What did they do on the show? I remember them in a sketch where Bert tests his pigeon calls.
It was also a Golden Books story. I think Bert showed winter, Ernie showed summer, Herry showed spring, and Cookie showed fall.
In the book, Grover was a stagehand (pouring snow, rain, apples, etc.).

Only about 100 more to go.
(Luckily...
It's not a song.
Gordon reads the story to a group of kids at the garage's steps (where Gina's Vet is now) in rhyme. In-between verses we see the Muppets act out the book, which went something like this:
The Cowboys are losing a baseball game with one more run to go, and Forgetful is at...
They appeared together during season 32 when Elmo made a collage. (That's when they got new performers, though).
They were also in the "Flower" pageant and in the audience of the "Exit" song by Chris and the Alphabeats.
I didn't know it either, but someone mentioned it was, and the voices match up. She was also in a toothpaste commercial with Emeril Lagasse last year.
Sorry, I don't know who played Mickey.
Jerry Nelson's forum name is Twiddlebug. He gave us some great info about some of the big monsters and how they were performed. Definitely worth seeing.
