Sam and Friends Book Read our review of the long-awaited book, "Sam and Friends - The Story of Jim Henson's First Television Show" by Muppet Historian Craig Shemin.
This is definately something to celebrate all right! With as much recognition as this, it's obvious that there are many other Muppet and Henson fans besides us that still care for these characters. I see no end in sight for the people at Henson. :):):)
About three years ago, I won an auction off of eBay for about 20-some Fraggle books, and let me tell you; they are some of the best pieces added to my Muppet collection. I will definately want to add more vintage Fraggle stuff as well to go with my Sesame and classic Muppets.
Even though I am a male, I really did enjoy watching the Golden Girls and I still do. I have no doubt that as of right now, Bea is getting back in touch with Estelle Getty in heaven. God rest both of their souls.
But just to stay on topic, I have so many Sesame Street books in my Muppet cllection, some of them from when I was really little. I'm on the verge of find books from the Muppets to add to the collection as well.
Her are some books I would like to find (I'm not asking if anyone has these or not though):
-A Day in the Life of Ernie & Bert (1971)
-Big Bird's Blunder Book (1972)
-The Amazing Mumford and His Amazing Subtraction Trick (1972)
-Can You Tell Me How to Get to Sesame Street (1975)
-The...
Yeah, I know how that is. I'm trying to look over some ofthe things that I either want to keep or trade or sell. Good luck with the rest of those auctions. I especially enjoy reading, so I might check this stuff out.
I couldn't agree more with your statement. It's not just Sesame Street that gets me hyped up, but everything else that Jim has done as well; from The Muppet Show to Fraggle Rock, from The Dark Crystal to The Storyteller. We all have our own likes and interests, and at times they can be quite...
Amen. We have too many parents these days who depend on toys and television to babysit their children. If they would just try to monitor everything that their kids do and try to set them up in the right direction, we wouldn't have any issues such as this. I know that if I ever become a father...
Yeah, I'm starting to wish that I had voted for Obama as well. He's been doing pretty well so far from what I've noticed since January. Anyway, this was a great interview with Carroll. I met with him once and he is one of the nicest people you could ever talk to. God bless his soul.
I don't think it's gone downhill at all. It's just trying to survive as much as possible due to the amount of other competitive children's shows that have made shows for preschoolers in that kind of format, like a so-called purple dinosaur and Latin-American girl.
More to add to my favorites. I certainly hope that Frank Oz will do more interviews about the Muppets at some point in the present time. Of course I know that he is mainly focused on directing movies now.
I don't think it should be that bad. I personally feel that Sesame Street is really the only children's show that deserves this award (that and Mr. Rogers Neighborhood), mainly because it is the ony show that really works on television. Considering the amount of research and specialists who...
Yeah, the people over at Henson know just how special Rowlf. I honestly doubt that they will let anything bad happen to him. He was, after all, the first Muppet to gain as much personality as Kermit. I'm sure we'll see more of him in things to come. :sympathy::sympathy::sympathy:
Good News!
I just figured it out. Apparently in order to replace the old Flash Player, I have to uninstall it first, that way I can install the new version. And it worked just fine. Thanks for the advice though.
