I'm heading to Atlanta to visit the Henson exhibits at the Center for Puppetry Arts! Be back Monday.
Too bad they don't allow photos or video, or I'd have some cool stuff to post when I got back.

I also got my Shadowrun Street Deacon Vigilante figure in the mail.
He's got a LOT of potential as a Snake Walker custom. I was pleasantly surprised to discover that if you remove his chest armor, underneath are sculpted a pair of crossed bandoliers over his chest, very like what Snake has...
Okay, that was a joke.
I managed to attach the bobblehead Piggy's noggin to a length of PVC pipe, which is then embedded into the Gojira body cavity.
This allows her to nod up and down just slightly, plus pivot left and right, which gives her a decent range of motion. I still want to paint...
We saw this at the Mississippi Museum of Art in March of 2010, and got to meet Heather Henson, who was especially thoughtful and kind to my kids when she learned that we'd driven six hours to get there just before the museum was closing.
I too was upset about the no photo/no video policy. I...
Anyone have Elmo singing "Drive My Car" from Sesame Street Sing-Along Travel Songs? Need it for a 'Muppets Sing the Beatles' compilation I'm making.
Send to: Ploovo241@aol.com
Thanks!

Sadly, I have had this CD downloaded on my computer for months now, but have never listened to it. I found a guy from Russia or somewhere who had posted all of his Muppet soundtracks, and just grabbed them all before they got shut down.
BUT, I did burn a bunch of them to disc the other day, and...
Hi all,
I have an extra Mini Muppet of Dr. Bunsen Honeydew, mint on card with the white mailer box.
I would like to trade it for a Mini Muppet of Beaker or Kermit. They can be loose as long as they are in good condition.
Email me at Ploovo241@aol.com if you can help me out.

No, but I have had other figures with problematic hats. It's usually just a matter of the magnet being flipped upside down on one piece or the other, so they're repelling instead of attracting.
I had to fix a Samuel Arrow that had that problem, and also totally removed the magnet from a spare...
Bingo!
I've had this Godzilla toy for a while now. That buddy of mine who loves Dr. Who sold it to me for $5, but I never could find a Piggy head that was the right size. At first I thought maybe a doll/puppet with a plastic head... but they were all either way too small or way too big.
Then...
For certain shots, Bobo's hands are in such perfect synch that I have wondered if one operator might be doing both of those, concealed inside the character's bulk, while Bill stands slightly behind and just does the head. There's precedent, with Chef and Rowlf, but normally for live hands, the...
Holy cow! I had no idea that our director Jennifer had uploaded this clip months ago, but after I uploaded my clip (above), this one was an auto-recommended selection!

James wanted to audition as a walk-around Aladdin at the Disney Parks, so early one...
Ooh, two good guesses, but not the project I had in mind!
Notice the shadow in this pic?
Heh heh heh!

By the way, I should have uploaded this back in April, right after the play was over, but I finally got around to it:

Glad you enjoyed yourself doing it, and welcome to the world of loose collecting!
One thing you might want to consider doing right now, before you forget what came with whom, is put all the little accessories for each figure into separate little ziploc baggies, like the kind they use for...
I didn't join the Palisades forums until close to the end of that era, so I'm not sure if GWumby is the same half of Tink & Gumby, but there's a strong likelihood that he is. And, yeah, I think I was Dearth or possibly the full "DearthNadir" on there. I was gonna be DearthNadir here too, but had...
Sorry, I've got no experience making Toy Story stuff, and frankly no inclination. See, I used to customize Star Wars figures, but I kept getting burned by Hasbro. I'd get this inspiration for a really obscure character, I'd buy the two or three donor figures who I needed for parts, spend hours...
On the whole, as a lifelong loose toy collector and huge fan of the Palisades figures, I definitely say open them, group them together, arrange scenes, enjoy them!
That does come with a proviso, however...
Don't open a white shirt Lips! Because of a problem with the chemicals at the factory...
My earliest puppetry memory, barring Sesame Street, would have to be Captain Kangaroo's Mr. Moose and Bunny Rabbit. In fact, I think they might have predated SS for me. I also recall seeing Kukla Fran and Ollie, but not on their own show, just a clip of them on someone's variety show, in black...
