why have one puppet or main character? Because then you are essentially hampering someone's creativity, even if we all make a similar puppet- because you got to keep it as close to the "original' as possible.
why not have each person involved make his one monster puppet- then each puppet...
I agress with buck in the fact that I don't think anyone should feel the need to share secret they have developed on their own- ESPECIALLY if those secrets are essentail to their lively hood. If you are supporting your family by building puppets then i wouldn't be disappointed if you didn't...
i have never purchased a puppet from puppetplanet...but don't worry. SHe is extremely talented and knowlegable...she has helped me a lot, and i have done buisness with her. SHe is honest and fair. I'm sure you'll love your puppet
Ya know, i started this thread because it seems puppeteers view pupeteering for the muppets or sesame street as the ultimate goal for any puppeteer. Now certainly, there is an amount fame that goes along with being known as a "muppeteer" It says a lot about your skill. Also, let's be honest...
well buck,
I don't know if i would call it "well ventilated" but I am not using it in my closet with the door closed! And as far as cancer goes, in all honesty, i have seen so much cancer in so many people, that ANYTHING gives someone cancer. But, the impotence thing...YIKES :) Thanks for...
hey buck, what do you use for adhesives? I use weldwood contact cement. I like it because with a hair dryer it'll be ready to use in less than 5 mins and It always holds. However, i am looking for something different because I am loosing major brain cells by using that stuff. Man, the fumes...
please hold onto your pattern for the "elmo" head if you succeed in building elmo. I have been trying to make one for my niece and my daughter for a long time....needless to say.. i failed. or maybe i am too picky. Either way i am elmo-less. thanks.
How many of you dream of being a self supporting puppeteer? How many of you have tried it? In theory I could see someone building their own puppets and performing for schools, libraries, birthday parties, etc.. and making good money at it. Have any of you tried this? OR do any of you besides...
puppet planet has a few excellent pages on her web site for blinking eye mechs...check it out. It's under the "build your own" section of her web site. Puppet planet to the rescue once again!!!!
I think your puppet is excellent? That is obviously not your first attempt, correct? Wise move on going for sintra, that stuff is awesome!!!! I got a pile of it for free from sign company that does a lot of buisness. They had tons of scraps. The only suggestion i have, and this is not a put...
well, i decided to "man up" and go find the meterials i needed. I mean, hey, if i really want to build a puppet i'll try ever avenue right? so i called a sign company about 20 mins from here and they said they had scraps of sintra i could get, so i drove up there and i got about 5 or six...
thanks for the posts! After i posted that new thread i went to lowe's last night determined to find stuff that would work. I did find some "home for sale" signs of corrogated plastic, i also found some sintra signs that were sturdy....but very $$$$ so i was determined not to raise the cost on...
Howdy' yalls....
I have been making puppets for over a year or so now, and i just recently got my little fingers onto the ALP videos ;) Thanks.
In the past i have been using foam core or gator board for mouth plates. I want to make a firm mouth plate, but i don't like foam core because i...
thanks,
that was awesome. I myself struggle at coming up with my own patterns. It seems a lot of it is trial and error, but that method costs way too much $$$ for me. SO i haven't really come up with a good way to make a patterns otherwise. I have been told paper machie works well if you...
i know this isn't quite the same thing as building a puppet, but i have to write a new sermon every other week (i'm still studying to be a pastor). Sometimes, i hit a writer's block. What i do is just plow through it! really. keep the lines primed. So what if it is not your best work. It...
Hey Buck, or anyone else out there who has produced their own puppet or television shows before, I am actively involved with ministry but our church is small and our synod is small and lack funds and ambitionn to try new mthods of ministry. I have an idea for childrens ministry that could...
