I always turn the movie off after the Thumbalina segment ends. It absolutely is a badly made movie; however, I enjoy it because the songs are extremely impressive musically and the girl who plays Thumbalina is pretty hot.
When I first heard his Uncle Deadley, I thought it was Dave Goelz performing him. And Re:The Count, in an era where Sesame is populated mainly by Elmo and Abby Cadabby, is taking over The Count *really* that big a deal? When Eric Jacobson took over Fozzie and Piggy, yeah, he had big shoes to...
It was basically a re-hash of the 70's series and only retained the Marshalls and Chaka (who was re-named Stink). The only new character was a young female dinosaur about the same age and height as Holly; she was named after Will and Holly's mother.
Speaking of LOTL, there hasn't been much talk in this thread about the rebooted LOTL series from the 90's that used to be on Nickelodeon. I used to watch it all the time; I'd love to hear your thoughts on it.
I'm thinking about seeing Lion King this year; it's been running for 15 years so it must be good. I saw Beauty and the Beast in 1999 and it was wonderful. That's one I want to actually be in more than any other show; I had the opportunity to do the show twice and it eluded me both times.
Can I just say that I really love the LOTL movie? It's the first movie where Will Ferrell finds the right balance between lovable jerk and Anchorman-type jerk. Plus, anything Danny McBride touches is magical.
The show will be closing on August 26th. I'm sad I didn't get a chance to see it; I had the opportunity to see it last December but saw Mary Poppins instead (easily the worst thing I've seen on Broadway).
Sorry to be joining the party so late. MST is my favorite thing in the world. I own about 35 episodes on VHS and DVD. My two favorites are Time of the Apes and The Brain That Wouldn't Die. Re: Rifftrax and Cinematic Titanic: I've seen two of each:
Rifftrax: Santa and the Ice Cream Bunny...
Where did you hear that this one is the best? The general consensus is that "Opie the Birdman" is the best one. My personal favorite is "Citizen's Arrest".
Do you think there was a choreographer on staff specifically to assist the actors in the Gorg suits with their movements/dancing? The Gorgs weren't in every episode, so it doesn't make much sense for the choreographer to be listed in the end credits. I'm thinking it might have been Betsy...
Andrew Stanton (director of Wall-E) has gone on record saying nowhere in the making of the film did he intend to inject his political agenda. The de-population of Earth is the only thing that makes the movie work. As for the 'overweight' complaint, that was a brilliant satire on how easy it is...
But if a child is young enough, wouldn't their parents accompany them anyway? Plus, most parents don't care if their young kids see a PG movie (PG13 and up is where it gets a little chancey).
I don't care how subtle the jokes are; if Brad Bird thinks the world's going to liquify if he doesn't...
Cars 2 was based on a pretty legitimate idea. When Lassetter did a press tour for the first Cars, he felt very out-of-place and blue-collar. So he thought it would be fun to put Mater in those awkward situations. And in terms of merchandise, the only in-store Pixar merchandise between 2006 and...
