Just imagine yourselves in a 60's style coffee house. There's someone on stage reciting poetry while playing the bongos. And the audience start snapping their fingers and saying classic slang like, "Daddio, Crazy, Way Out, Put Me In Orbit!"
I was watching an episode of Gerbert and I found out Kermit Love had played a giant life sized puppet guy who shows us how to make a tugboat out of a cardboard box and paper towel tube.
What were some of the neat slang words and phrases of the past that you wouldn't find today's kids using?
"Groovy!"
"23 Skidoo!"
"Hubba Hubba!"
"Way Out!"
"Rooty Toot Toot!"
"The Cat's Meow!"
"Daddio!"
"Swingin'!"
"Put me in orbit!"
Another cable channel I used to like was TBS. It was a family type station that showed classic cartoons like Popeye and Looney Tunes during the day and old and original sitcoms in the evening. But now they've taken away all the cartoons and good stuff and it just doesn't seem the same anymore.
Thank you. :) Yes, Fifi was my favorite Tiny Toons character too. Kath Soucie is really great at doing girls with pretty accents.
And I first associated Rob Paulsen with Tiny Toons characters like Arnold, Fowlmouth, and Concord Condor. Rob would later get greater fame voicing Yakko and...
I too feel the same way sometimes. It took about six years for Cartoon Network to come to my cable station and when it finally did, most of the good classic cartoons were gone from their station for they were going to be aired on this new station called Boomerang. And it took a long time for...
Yes, Maurice can do a great Robin Williams impersonation.
Actually, I believe it was Maurice doing the voice of Tim Burton. And Steven did voice himself in one episode. And in his other appearances, Frank Welker ended up voicing Steven.
XERUS'S VOICE ARTIST FOCUS:
This week's V/A focus will be about the series Tiny Toon Adventures. A very creative and funny show about a new generation of cartoon characters who are being taught by the original Looney Tunes themselves. This very creative show has lots of colorful funny...
Yes it is. :) In fact, Kathryn Beaumont, who played Alice in the original 1951 Alice in Wonderland movie, came back to voice her character on the House of Mouse.
Also, puppeteer Bruce Lanoil performed Pepe Le Pew in Looney Tunes, Back in Action.
I saw in the DVD behind the scenes where Bruce performed puppets of Bugs and Daffy to show the actors what it would be like to perform with the Looney Tunes when it was time to shoot the movie.
Jeff Bergman voiced Bugs, Daffy, Foghorn Leghorn, Tweety, Yosemite Sam, and Elmer Fudd in the first season of Tiny Toons. As well as Bugs, Daffy, and Elmer in the short, Box Office Bunny, and Bugs and Daffy in those cartoon clips in Gremlins 2.
Maurice LaMarche voiced Pepe Le Pew in Space...
The House of Mouse had one of the most impressive voice casts ever. And I consider the customers as regular characters. While some only had one or two lines in the series, I've noticed that customers like Timon, Pumbaa, Eeyore, Lumiere, Mushu, and Hades had the most speaking parts in the series.
I wondered why I didn't see Roger Rabbit in the House of Mouse, but saw the rarely seen Benny there instead. Benny was in the episode where Max wanted to get his own car.
You're right. They should've brought back the original Prince Charming. I wonder if Eric Jacobson could do his voice since Frank Oz originally performed him.
XERUS'S VOICE ARTIST FOCUS:
This week I have a big one. It's the amazing voice cast for Disney's House of Mouse series. The show started out as Mickey Mouse Works where Mickey and his friends come back to TV and make new cartoon shorts like the ones they did in the past. But later, it...
I like whenever Donald tries to talk to someone in his quacky voice, they always go, "What did he say?"
But at least in that episode, his nephews made Donald a medal that picks up 15 different TV stations.
