Sam and Friends Book Read our review of the long-awaited book, "Sam and Friends - The Story of Jim Henson's First Television Show" by Muppet Historian Craig Shemin.
How did they move the sets? They took them apart loaded them onto trucks and reassembled them in the new studio. Of course some things were replaced with new material taking the place of old ones...but most of the set pieces were just moved. Although they look huge, most TV sets are built in a...
So the real question now is will we get "Fraggle Rock: Complete Third Season" (with 22 episodes) and "Fraggle Rock: Complete Fourth and Fifth Seasons" (with 26 episodes). Or as Karen implies "Fraggle Rock: Complete Third Season" (with 24 episodes) and "Fraggle Rock: Complete Fourth Season"...
Does anyone know the name of the song that Rowlf plays on the piano with a chicken (right before it lays an egg) in The Muppet Show episode with John Cleese (episode 223)?
A friend of mine was at WDW a few years ago and said that similar things were up around the fountain (I don't know if they were exactly the same or not -- I could ask him). I think it might just be drained, cleaned and/or repaired from time to time (and they put up the walls to close it off). I...
We all know Fraggle Rock lasted 5 years (1983-1987), but did it last 5 seasons? Has the fan base been wrong all these years? All the fansites say that there were five seasons of Fraggle Rock, and in looking at how the episodes were spaced out and run on HBO it may appear that way. But I read...
Gabriela Rose Reagan played the role from 1989 - 1990 and Desiree Casado took over in 1993 and continues today (check Casado's official cast bio on SesameWorkshop.org and Muppet Wiki). There is a gap from 1991-1992 (season 23) where someone else was in the role, however I don't know who that was.
Who cares if it is technically a holiday..it's still an excuse to party and get candy,
and heralde, what's wrong with "xmas"? The "-mas" comes from the Anglo-Saxon postfix for "festival" or "religious event and the "x" comes from Χριστος (Greek for "Christ").
I have two questions...
Who are the new performers of the twiddlebug family?
Is this traditional computer animation (like Pixar's stuff) or is some kind of digital performance system (like what's used for Waldo C. Graphic, "Elmo's World" and "Frances")?
Well, if he found the peas of powers Junior could grow a wife. ;)
I know, I know, it's just a silly Gorg legend (a child's fairy tale if you will)... but maybe with the Broccoli of Power... (oh, McMooch might have had something there :p).
I'm looking for anyone out there with information on individual Rowlf & Jimmy Dean sketches from "The Jimmy Dean Show". Over the past month I've been working on the Jimmy Dean Show article on Muppet Wiki (see it here). I've read Jimmy Dean's autobiography (which is a great book) and scanned tons...
The extra tracks aren't new. All 13 tracks here were on the 1979 LP, the 1990 CD, and the 1996 CD. However the 2000 CD release didn't have 3 songs ("Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas", "When the River Meets the Sea" and "Little Saint Nick"). So this CD has 3 songs that the previous edition...
Wow, is there an echo in the Muppet community?
I posted this at ToughPigs earlier today:
Then I come here and see a_Mickey_Muppet's post:
A_Mickey_Muppet, I don't appreciate you're plagiarism. Passing news and information around the fanbase is great (I was actually just about to post...
The thing is that these people would have never been Beaker and Bunsen before...they are inexperienced in the characters.
But, just like film, it is the same every time it's played and eveytime it's Jim and Richard's wording, interaction, timing, and has been pre-planned out as much as any...
The programmed animatronics to pre-recorded vocal tracks are no diffrent from capturing Statler and Waldorf on film (except it the medium is metal and foam not photography on film). The voices, wording, content, timings, and interactions (although executed by prerecorded computerized robots) are...
If this is true (and I don't know how "well" the technology will pull it off) it still isn't good.
So the characters may vocally sound like Steve and Dave, but the problem is that the person who's words are being translated into Dave and Steve's voice don't have Bunsen and Beaker's character...
Here's a video of Rowlf on The Jimmy Dean Show: http://blog.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=blog.view&friendID=113061059&blogID=173504884&Mytoken=04D86962-A6CC-4D40-B17CCD9FD76D572E22861625
