    Muppets Season 1 releases Aug 9, 2005

At this point I have been unable to get a clear answer if the item everyone is calling "Original Pilot" means the set will have "The Muppets Valentine Show", "The Muppet Show: Sex and Violence", or both. I was told by someone working on the set that the DVD producers wanted to include both...

    Muppets Season 1 releases Aug 9, 2005

In order to stop this thread from becoming a Juhl thread, and to allow greater discussion of Jerry "leaving" and "returning" to the Muppets I started this thread on the subject: http://forum.muppetcentral.com/showthread.php?p=278068#post278068 It should have the explanation you're looking for.

Should Jerry Juhl return to write?

There has been a lot of talk recently about Jerry Juhl, the great Muppet writer. His last official work with the Muppets was on Muppets from Space. During the project he left due to "creative differences". Leading up to Juhl's stepping back from the Muppets other writers grew in the Muppet...

    Muppets Season 1 releases Aug 9, 2005

Yes, you are correct. Jerry Juhl has been one of the big players in the production of these sets. He is apparently on great terms with the Muppets (although I wouldn't expect to see him writting the next Muppet screenplay or television project).

The “Muppet Morsels” feature is an all new feature that allows viewers to read “pop-up” trivia on each episode through the subtitle track. The trivia was created and worked on by Michael Dixon (webmaster of kermitage.com), Craig Shemin (Henson writer/historian), Jerry Juhl (Muppet writer) and...

    What happened to toughpigs.com?

The site exceded its bandwidth for the month (I guess it was all that added Oz traffic). Danny Horn is trying to work out the problem, but if you just hold in there it will all be back when the bandwidth is reset at midnight tonight (June 1st). You can still access the forums here...

More bonus features... The list of bonus features I gave earlier this month gave great information on what to expect on the set but it was not complete. While doing more digging into the details of the set, I uncovered two more features that will be included; "A Jim Henson Retrospective" and...

Your Thoughts: The Muppets' Wizard of Oz

Kirk Thatcher, the director of the film, said that the wizard was supposed to look cheezy and fake. They wanted to audiance to know these images were not "real" and were artificial illusions; and were not real in the relm or world of the film. The images were not supposed to look realistic and...

Frank Oz in a movie with Chevy Chase

The two worked together three times Frank Oz and Chevy Chase both appeared on "Saturday Night Live" (where Chevy was a cast member and Frank helped with the Muppets during the first season), and in "Sesame Street Presents: Follow that Bird" (where Chevy played the news man and Frank did...

    The Muppets 50th Anniversary

Actually the Muppets turned 50 on Monday, May 9, 2005. Little celebration was done to celebrate the birth of Kermit and "Sam & Friends" (and thus the Muppets and Jim Henson's career in puppetry). Disneyland has some commemorative pins for Kermit's 50th...

It's Official: Fraggle Rock Season 1 Box Set

Actually the print out ad said "Fall 2005", but the HIT consumer relations are now conferming it to be "September 2005" -- the exact date has not been announced but September 6 is very possible.

It's Official: Fraggle Rock Season 1 Box Set

That is unsure. I've contacted HIT about this several times. And HIT has yet to comment on the exact release date; all they are saying is "September 2005". Not to put Amazon down or anything, but they have been wrong before in stating release dates for pre-released items (especially when an...

Your Thoughts: The Muppets' Wizard of Oz

The original Wizard of Oz never specified Dorothy's skin color. The story is not a story of race or ethnicity; whether Dorothy is black or white (or green) it should not matter - they story is still the same. What's wrong with a black Dorothy?

    Of Muppets And Men???

The special is not on DVD...yet! Sadly, "Of Muppets & Men" will not be on the season one DVD set of the Muppet Show (the set is already filled up with great first season bonus material). But Disney knows the special is there and they hope to be able to fit it onto one of the other season...

If you read the post at The Digital Bits it says "below you'll see possible cover art for the set"; the key word there is possible. I have been told by someone working on the set that the data for the discs has been approved and locked in, but the artwork has not been pinned down yet. Many...

Will there ever be remastered CD releases?

Disney has the rights to the music from the first three films as well. It would be nive to see TMM, TGMC, MTM, MCC, and MTI all have their respective soundtracks re-released on CD by Disney. Yes there is a holiday CD planned for release in time for the 2005 holiday season. It is unsure if it...
