Sam and Friends Book Read our review of the long-awaited book, "Sam and Friends - The Story of Jim Henson's First Television Show" by Muppet Historian Craig Shemin.
Now I Didn't like the Muppets 2011, but that was mostly due to the HUMAN Casting of the film and the need of not truly rehashing a familiar plotline. I like the film if it was more like the Muppets take Manhattan and use unknown actors and Actresses and work with them and the Muppets.
Frank Oz...
Woah, you all mean to tell me that by the time Sesame Street reach its 50th anniversary...it will NOT be under it's original date of November 11, ***9, right ?
Hearing this news reminds me of Joey Mazzarino and Sesame Street how he quit the show. Honestly it like these big wigs don't care about what makes these characters special anymore to the overall public. :concern:
You would think there would be a small clause in the deal stating that the family of Henson would approve such changes given that it is Jim Henson's legacy, right ?
I know Disney OWNS the Muppets, but shouldn't the Jim Henson Company have a small say in this or two, given that it was Jim's legacy and his own children that thought Steve should do :) in the first place if history serves me right ?
Seriously I'm shocked in this as I grew up with Mr. Steve Whitmire as both:) and :p. To lose him, just breaks my heart a bit. At least we know Kermit's okay with Matt Vogel doing him.
However, given his already increase number of Muppets, I do hope there is a plan on Sesame Street if the...
An update to my previous post as it seems that Disney maybe slowly working a NEW Muppet Vision 3-d for their Parks....However, that means the loss of the one of the final works of Jim Henson.
At least according to this video:
As Muppet Fans what do you say about this ?
At least that's what I'm getting from this Youtube video:
Can anyone confirm this or not ?
Also what is with Disney and retelling the same Muppet stories again for modern audiences ?
I mean what's wrong with the classic Muppet trio of films ?
Given how much the show has change for this season. It's going to be a diffcult one to sell on the media.
I mean I can see the show giving out new interviews just to explain the changes to the public...again. :(
To quote a certain Movie: "Grab your Torch and Pitchforks."
I'm just saying it's going to get ugly now that the HBO shows are able to be viewed to the public.
I cannot believe that they're willing to cut down on the OLD SCHOOL SHOWS!!
Honestly, somethings shouldn't be tampered with. Showtime runnings or not.
Some kids could benefit seeing the OLD SCHOOL Sesame in its full non-tampered form.
If I may add about the Maria and Luis clip by saying that maybe it was a special moment in the Show's history and that they required to have most of the majority characters making an appearance during the ceremony and that includes Frank and Jim's major characters.
It truly feels like the original show's vision by its creator it just being plucked away.
Remember there was suppose to be a balance between the Muppet performers and the humans on the show.
While HBO may not be to blame SOMEONE needs to FIRE the new staff for the show.
I mean they maybe saving money, but they're killing what made the show great in the first place.
Money isn't everything if the show isn't likable by the general public.
Remember this show is going straight to PBS after an 8 month time period. So once the general public finds out about this...Old school fans aren't going to be happy.
Let me try to take this in with a clear mind.
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!
Looks like it will take a miracle for this show to reach 50 years on Television.
