Your Thoughts: The Muppet Show Season 3

Thanks for all the reviews, guys! I do think I'm going to wait a little while for the price to maybe go down. But it's great to have the whole season on DVD, even if the features could be better. I will say though, I've seen "Muppets on Puppets" twice at the TV Museum and it's fabulous! You see...

Should Sesame Street use Super Grover to generate more fans ?

Well there has always been children's TV, but most were not designed to be educational. Still, technically you're right in that there were attempts at educational children's TV programming in the '50s and '60s. But Sesame Street is regarded as the first fully realized and successful.

Weinstein rolls with Fraggle Rock movie

Aw thanks! Yes it is sort of an extension of the idea that before you just others, you should take a good look at yourself. :)

    Women and Shoes

Well I guess I wasn't exposed to those good feelings. ;) But I do agree that things are a combination of nature vs. nurture. Women I think do have some qualities they are born with, but also our society teaches that shoe obsession is part of being a girl. :insatiable:

    That voice...

Lol, I know what you mean, I always think, "Wait, what's Cookie doing back there?" Lol :insatiable: I guess it's a random funny voice Frank chose to use at that moment, though it is funny to think Cookie might have had a night job!

Weinstein rolls with Fraggle Rock movie

Well I think what's important to remember is that, while the Fraggles and Gorgs did have certain distinct features, they were complex personalities. The Fraggles occasionally got cocky or selfish and made mistakes. The Gorg occasionally managed to be honorable and kind. So I guess we're all a...

The "I Did Something Stupid Today" Thread

Oh duh, I should have thought of that! Well I hope you can find a site that works for you (There are tons of them. Though of course, you have to make sure they're reputable too! lol)! And calling the BBB might be good too. :)

The "I Did Something Stupid Today" Thread

Claudia, it's normal to have that inner critic in your head, putting you down. But it's important to realize it's not true. Often our own minds will try to sabotage us, as illogical as that sounds. We have to make an effort to think highly of ourselves, epsecially when others may not. :)

    The Dark Crystal vs. Labyrinth

It is weird how people have such different reactions to the same films, hehe. I really find Dark Crystal too slow, there's not enough going on. As impressive as it definitely is, I can never finish it. Plus it feels more unapproachable. But I always adore the characters and adventures in...

Should Sesame Street use Super Grover to generate more fans ?

I do think Sesame Street is not as popular as it once was, I see more Dora and other show's merchandise than anything else. It's perfectly normal, Sesame Street used to be the only kid on the block, now it has competition. And it suffered from not having as many characters as it used to and...

Your Thoughts: Kermit and Fozzie on The View

Well what's disturbing is that making things "modern" always seems synonymous with conformity and sameness. And that's not what I'd want my kids to learn or what I myself would want to see.

    The RHLC!

Lol, you know the Wayne/Dudley Do-Right connection never occured to me, but that completely makes sense! Kinda cocky, but completely delusional, hehe. Which is always very charming, Richard sort of always allowed himself (or his characters) to be the cocky delusional ones, in order to create the...

    Am I the only one?

"These are my principles and if you don't like them...well I have others." Anyway, I learned long ago not to dismiss other people's interests as bad until I understand why they like it so much. It's less stressful on my nerves. :) Of course, I can't say I'm always perfect in this area, hehe...

    Funeral

Well there is that song from Fraggle Rock, "It's just a dream away. You've got to leave to stay. We'll meet again someday, just a dream away." And my condolences to your family!

    The RHLC!

Well it's that the Muppets used to parody pop culture, but now they're blending in with it more.

    Am I the only one?

Now, now, the show's name was inspired by Puff the Magic Dragon (and for the last time there's nothing weird about that song!) Lol ;)

    The RHLC!

Well, some might see their softening in the movies and specials as a bad thing, but I honestly enjoy seeing them slightly less cynical occasionally (though again, I think we need both). It's the more recent cruel and jaded tone I'm not happy about.

Your Thoughts: Kermit and Fozzie on The View

I don't enjoy hearing any of the opinions on that show, liberal or conservative. I don't feel the show represents women very well. And I agree, Ruahnna, the fat jokes (which are meaner than they used to be) need to stop. Instead of Kermit secretly liking Piggy, he sometimes gives off the...
