Your Thoughts: Studio DC Hosted by Selena Gomez

Well OK I'll respond to this, hehe. Thanks. Well sometimes you have to have hope and optimism for things to happen. But being pragmatic is good too. I'm just thinking, Kermit could have changed his Manhattan Melodies show to what the indifferent producers wanted. Instead, he waited until he...

Those all may turn out to be great, and I hope they are. But again, Jim-era material was interntionally successful for years. Post-Jim material has not as yet achieved that (again no offence to them). I'm just not sure about the message we're sending to young people. "We know what the really...

Understood. :) It's just that, no offense to the newer projects from the '90s and now, but they did not bring the same large audience the Muppets once had. And I still say the older material has barely been given the exposure. So I am being skeptical, but optimistic. :)

Agreed, that would give the impression that they aren't trying to separate the fans or show a preference to the old or new. And after seeing DC, some kids might be interested. (Yes I do admit that, lol, I'm just saying it's not the only way to do it. Old doesn't have to take a back seat to new.) ;)

    It Looks Like Christmas...

You could have knocked me over today! I walked into a Hallmark store I've been to many times, straight to where they normally keep the Halloween cards. And to my shock and awe...there were two shelves of Christmas cards! :excited: Naturally I was like, "Well...where's Halloween?...Oh here it...

Yup state fairs are a great part of Fall. And pumpkin picking is fun...or perhaps more accurately called pumpkin picking upping. In that most of the pumpkins were already picked before hand, and just put back on the ground for kids to find, lol.

I get you, I just don't think the world has changed all that much based on my observations of history. We just all have very sort memories, or none at all if we weren't there. I think the media has always tried to give the impression of how much times change, for dramatic effect and to keep...

Oh yes, absolutely! Very strange phenomenon to say the least. You are right, it's true of every DVD now. It's just that it's further contributing to the problem as I see it. Like I said, I have no problem with Disney bringing in new material to introduce kids to the Muppets. I do think...

Yeah that makes sense. To this say I have trouble identifying with women on TV. April O'Neal was great, but I'd rather be a turtle, lol. The closest for me was Daria, loved her. :) Yup, they need to stop being afraid of looking silly and go for it. :)

As Told by Ginger was good, but I still couldn't identify with the girls. The bossy popular girl was funny though and I liked how she kinda liked Ginger, but couldn't admit it too much. But yes, in general cartoons used to have deeper storylines. And even if they weren't always deep, they were...

Definitely, if the performer was permanent, we'd see the character more.

I absolutely agree, like I said the '80s MLP had great messages and stories. It was just that some of the ponies reminded me of snippy girls I knew, lol. But other ponies and the humans were smart too and like you said the fantasy elements were fantastic. :) Well hmm...it's an old TV device...

I think both Rickey Boyd and David Rudman's voices were on the money. Brian Henson's voice wasn't exact but his charicterization was good. ;)

I agree and I think that's true of adult women on TV too. It's always been hard and continues to be. It tells girls they're weird if they aren't all princess-y. And what's worse, parents (even mothers) think that's just fine. As long as it appears cute, they don't care if it's harmful.

Well I will say I liked Rainbow Brite, she was a great role model. All the boy guest stars underestimated her because she was a girl, but she proved them wrong, hehe. My Little Pony was occasionally too catty for me, but still good messages.

If that is the case, they're going to have to keep making these and develop a pattern. (And not just show one Muppet movie where they're playing other characters). There were kids who did like the Muppets before this though. Not all kids need to be told something is cool (thank goodness, heh)...

Absolutely I loved the Turtles and so did other girls I knew! That's a very good point. I mean it's important for teach boys to respect women. But it's just as important to teach girls to respect themselves!

The Beaker duet moment is definitely really sweet. The only thing that occurs to me is, how are today's kids who haven't seen Muppet Show or some of the movies supposed to understand why these puppet characters are the way they are? It seems to me this is the mistake companies keep making...

Halloween is just around the corner

Ah true, he is beyond awesome, hehe. What I remember about the show was when the teachers were handing out black cats to the girls, they called the girls' names out loud. And the girls with the highest grades got called first, and the girls with the lowest, last. I always thought that was so...
