Bad, terrible and downright lousy Christmas Specials...

I think that would have been interesting, and actually something not even adult shows have done very well in the past. But Fraggle Rock was no ordinary show and I think they could have pulled something like that off. :)

Bad, terrible and downright lousy Christmas Specials...

LOL, that's so true, it was like that. I got the impression they wanted to concentrate more on the Fraggle story, but obviously just had to have something of Doc, you know what I mean?

Bad, terrible and downright lousy Christmas Specials...

That's the problem to me. I'd love a special that actually talks about all the different holidays. But often what we see is what's clearly supposed to be a Christmas special, but the creators being too afraid to call it that. And the other holidays barely get mentioned. Political correctness...

The Bible and Love and Christians

I think it's definitely true that our understanding of the Bible has evolved and should continue to do so. It's ironic to me that Jesus was always contradicting the hypocritical leaders he saw, and yet today we see many leaders of Christianity behaving the exact same way. Of course this is is no...

The Bible and Love and Christians

Agreed, as a pro life person I say violence is not going to convince people of anything. Both sides of controversial issues like these need to work on listening and mature debating (and not assuming it's only the other side that needs to do these things, heh). I agree this is something that...

The 'What Song Are You Currently Listening To?' Thread

I heard that today at the diner as well, lol. Great song! Celtic Thunder's version is also very good. Currently singing to "Sowing the Seeds of Love" by Tears for Fears, of course, hehe. : )

    The RHLC!

I've really never been a fan of post-Jim Muppets, so I'm approaching this with a mixture of hope and uncertainty, lol. I mean I didn't think Lord of the Rings would do any justice to the books, but I was very happy to be wrong there! So the only thing to do is wait and see. :)

    Worst/creepiest puppets/puppeteer work

That's it! I remember my father was never able to watch it because I always got scared when it came on, lol. But I've since gotten over that, for the most part hehe, and it's really quite fascinating!

    Worst/creepiest puppets/puppeteer work

Actually...yeah you're right, lol. Oh and how could we forget the 1980s music video for Genesis' "Land of Confusion," featuring a very creepy puppet of President Ronald Reagan! Now to be clear, I actually think this was very good puppetry, I believe the same people even had a TV show for...

    The RHLC!

Definitely you need something like that to turn to in life when things get difficult. Looking back I just think The Muppets really inspired me to make use of my talents in the future, despite the obstacles. :)

    The RHLC!

Oh wow my mom used to say the same thing about me. I was always befriending the kids who were picked on (by both the students and the teachers sometimes heh). And it made me very unpopular (and I didn't always get thanked by the kids who were bullied either lol). But you know I think that shows...

    Worst/creepiest puppets/puppeteer work

Oh yeah Weinerville, I loved that show! I didn't get to see the special either but I remember all the advertisements for it, the host talking about how as a kid there was all these Christmas specials and nothing to represent him.

    The RHLC!

Aw that's so great. Yeah I have a lot of songs or films that I always connect with a time when I really needed some comfort. It's funny how it sticks with you and then you always feel safe when revisiting them again. :) For me it was the Star Wars episode of Muppet Show (including "Six Street...

    Worst/creepiest puppets/puppeteer work

Oh yeah definitely can't have a discussion about weird puppetry without mentioning these two, lol. I know what you mean, clearly they had to work with low budgets and all. Still I admire their motivation despite the challenges and find their low budget-ness rather quirky and charming, hehe...

Luke, you're going to find that many of the truths we cling to depend greatly on our own point of view. ; ) For many Christians it is not considered an oxymoron. I went to a Christian school all my life and we were taught both religion and evolution. But on the other hand yes, it could be...

Times that Kermit said the name Jim Henson?

I'm pretty sure it was Statler and Waldorf who said that line, but I'm not remembering the episode just now. Did you check the Muppet Show episode summaries on this site?
